I’m going to guess London Breed, the SF mayor. Newsom already committed to picking a black woman but also said he wouldn’t pick someone who had already declared candidacy for the next Senate race. So that would rule out Barbara Lee.

I don't know much about her other than her being progressive. I'm sure the leftist power struggle for the position will begin.

Big news: Joe Manchin won’t be running for re-election in West Virginia. This seat will be a 2024 pick up for Republicans so we are back to 50-50 Senate. And Ohio and Montana look good for Republicans.

He will come out of the primary as the top of the ticket for the democrats.

I think it gets harder for democrats to defend Arizona and Nevada with the southern border crisis the Biden Administration has created.
