And add to the fact that OKC basically chose Ibaka over Harden to keep long term. And there were rumblings that Harden wanted to be the #1 guy which was never going to happen in OKC.
The conditioning is an issue. The supermax is an issue as Luka gets into his 30s. But you are literally him for a guy that got hurt 5 years straight....
If you’re still trying to be competitive and win a title, and you don’t care about trading in the west…why aren’t you calling the Thunder and trying to get Chet/Jalin Williams with a bunch of 1st rounders?
If you’re like “Hey, you know, we don’t like that Supermax, Luka won’t get his **** together, let’s move forward with our franchise” then why do this now? Why not wait till the summer and open a bidding war? Why are you calling LA directly and just working with one team???
How bad do the Knicks gotta feel? Sure Bridges and Towns have been great but you had been saving your assets for a super duper star, you decide to go ahead and pull your shot this offseason, then Luka Doncic gets traded at midseason…
That is the insane thing to me. How do you not get almost every controllable 1st from LA that you can? If you don’t believe Luka is worth the super max, don’t you want that 31 first as well?
OKC could trade Dort, Caruso, Holmgren and Topic plus whatever picks Dallas wanted for Luka and they are not only better positioned in the future they would probably be a better team in April
