Kind of hope the rumors of LA trading LeBron are true, but wouldn’t be shocked if it was a load of ****.

You can trade him and get some young talent to surround Luka with.

Or

You trade Dorian Smith and whatever remaining 1st round picks you have and go get Jarrett Allen at Center.
Reaves, Luka, Rui, Bron, Allen wouldn’t be a bad lineup.

He plays more than KD and Curry's fallen off. Curry probably shouldn't be an all-star. AD's def better than Spyda outside of availability. I'd be real interrsted to hear who the other names are (besides Giannis). Gets a lot harder to name guys.

The deal is as stunning as it is historic. It's the first time that two reigning All-NBA players have been traded for each other midseason, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Luka Doncic has averaged 28.6 points per game in his career. That is the highest career average for a player at the time he was traded since 1975, when the Bucks dealt Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the Lakers.

Luka wears on people, apparently. He killed Carlisle and Haralabob before the org killed him. Lazy D. Fatter every year. Now he's hurt and they are scared to commit $360m to him in this 2nd apron era.

It still doesn't make sense that it went down the way that it did. Saying "we're a 2-seed adding AD" is a strong case for a title, but I feel like they could've got Giannis.

I get the reasons for trading him.

But the return was absolutely abyssmal....

The only way this deal works out for Dallas is if AD plays 75 games per year and doesnt break down late the next 3 years. Im sure as hell not betting on that happening..

I could understand the logic if you did this trade with Detroit for Cade and picks in the offseason. Okay we get the B version of Luka, we save $125M, we get a younger player with better conditioning and we trust more. Okay, still crazy to me but I get it.

I don’t understand the timing. I don’t understand why they didn’t shop him around. I don’t understand why they didn’t try and get more picks. I don’t understand why you don’t maybe try some public shaming first before trading him. I’ve slept on it and I’m aghast.

I think their explanation would be that they wanted AD and that they didn't want any leaks.

Windhorst said on his podcast that after he absolutely grilled Luka for his game 3 performance, he was at and around the arena for 2 days. Not one Maverick exec or Maverick FO guy he had a relationship with texted him or talked to him to defend Luka

Because they knew LA wouldn’t say no to Luka. LA is always superstar shopping and Dallas knew they could get AD back and atleast try and compete this season.

AD has been hinting that he’s been wanting out of LA or to be a better situation to compete now. Although going to Dallas in exchange for Luka is probably a lateral move. But hey! There’s no state income tax in TX!
