2025 NCAA WBB Tournament non LV games and news

I like for SEC teams to make a good showing in the NCAAT, but I wanted WAY more today for Vanderbilt to lose and (oh please, oh please!) for Tennessee to manage to win.

I actually think Shea Ralph is an excellent coach and don’t really, REALLY have anything against her or Vanderbilt. But I DO want Kim to do better than her/them in the tourney since they humiliated us twice this season. Still bothers me, that, so getting to the second round would be SOME consolation.

I just watched Genos pre-game presser. He said that when they were watching tape of Arkansas State, he asked one of his assistants if this was the league that Kim Caldwell coached in. She said yes, and he said that makes sense. Apparently, they play like Tennessee with all of the changes and 40 minutes of pressing, and he actually said that they look like a mini-Tennessee. Since we lost to Tennessee, the first quarter could be very interesting. We will win, but maybe not by the 45 points they are favored by.

I got Iowa, FSU, Creighton and Bama. Bama might be in a fight.
I may have posted this before but I feel like FSU could lose today or go all the way to the Elite 8.

Similarly I feel like Bama would lose today or make it to the Sweet 16. But I ultimately made the same 4 picks as you.

You are right, FSU and Bama could both lose today, their opponents are dangerous.

Really, does ABC really need to showcase a 61-11 drubbing of Arkansas State by Connecticut in the 2nd quarter..😴😴😴
Huskies are gonna be a problem for everyone this tournament. I have them taking out the Trojans In their bracket. They shoot the 3 at an incredible clip. Fudd has flipped the switch, she is close to automatic these past 5-6 weeks. To beat them you need to take advantage of them in the post, but their guards/forwards have been good at denying entry passes and if the opposing post players don’t keep the ball above their heads they will swarm and strip. A little talked about trait of this Uconn team is that they have one of the top defenses in the NCAA this season.

The longer the season has gone on for Uconn, the more amazing the LV victory over them has become. That was just a huge win.

Not the point. ABC could've showcased at least a semi competitive game. I flipped it over to watch and 3 seconds later I turned it back to baseball..and Purdue vs McNeese in men's tournament..

Oh, nobody is arguing your point Knox….it was just an observation about how well Uconn is playing lately. They are on pace for 120+/- today.

Really excited for this FGCU/OU game. Potential for a huge upset there. FGCU has been playing great basketball, even with Smesko leaving. They haven’t lost a game in months and they can shoot lights out at times.

They will have no answer for Beers in the paint, but if their threes are falling OU could be in trouble. OU is perpetually defensively challenged imo. I think those two teams are offensively an even match so it’s going to come down to who gets more stops.

Yes, it was the Perfect Storm for Tennessee in that it was a home game, that CT struggled to hit shots, and the Lady Vols DID hit shots when push came to shove and did not get rattled by the Huskies' run at the end. Our best game/their worst game = our best win.

CT woke up BECAUSE of that game, so if they end up winning the natty this year Auriemma should have a huge bouquet of flowers delivered to Kim with a "Thank You" card. 😅

exactly. Just like LSU owed the LVs a bouquet when they won the Nattie after the LVs upset them in the SEC tourney and caught their cocky attention.

Anyone else looking forward to that 9/8 matchup between Mississippi State and Cal at 5:30? I could see that one going either way. State is quicker, but Cal is more disciplined.

Oh! And how about Zaay Green!? She's already got 20 with 6 minutes left in the third!
I’m excited for that game as well, really interesting matchup.

Zaay is so good, she is the engine of that team. Watching her success this season was fun, what a journey. I’m glad she ended up with Christy, they seem like a good match.
