I honestly don’t see why it wouldn’t be. You’re getting good minutes still, especially if you’re productive while in and you’re fresh!

I do think it can get in some players heads to do a little too much while they’re on the floor and start to press a little. Which is what I think happened to Sara last night.

So the twins aren’t top recruits? Some of you are just negative for no reason!!!! She’s had 5 months to build relationships with these kids. I mean Kellie couldn’t recruit top recruits and she had 5 years and played a regular style of basketball and still couldn’t recruit to save her life. She’s been here 5 months not even a full season. I think we’ll be okay. Now if she doesn’t secure any top recruits in 2026 then maybe we’re in trouble but cmon she’s had 5 months.

Right. They are trying too hard. The LV players, Coach Caldwell, and the WBB brand vibes are at an all-time high right now. This poster and the few others are the ones that were on social media all summer speaking negatively against the program and got embarrassed by the successful transfer class in a month by Coach Caldwell, Coach Lazo, and Coach Tubner. The critics mouth were shut for months. Now the on-court product is looking strong and all they can do is find something foolish to complain about.
They are just adding fuel to the fire! GBO!

Could be but I think right now there just is no proven track record of our coach at this level and the only thing that will solve that is time. If this season goes well ie win the games you are supposed to win and at least some games that are upsets and I think recruiting will open up more. Step one complete with a strong thumping last night, not a 12-20 point, didn't pull away until awkwardly in the second half, type of game... we'll see what happens next!

I made my statement, now I’ve always said the 2025 class would tell me if things would be successful or not and I haven’t changed my opinion yet. Even if they win games this year it won’t matter, if she keeps taking players out every 90 seconds the top players won’t come. Now we may get the next crop and be ok but that won’t be enough for Championships.

Im Not negative, I’m just giving my opinion on what I see as someone who’s played the game. Yes the play style is fine but I don’t like the subbing patterns and I think the top players won’t like it either. I actually hope you’re right, this cycle is over, so if we can get Kate Harprimg or Jerzy Robinson in 2026, I’ll come back and say u we’re right.

Kim has already stated that the subbing pattern will change as the team settles into the new style of play. You must not read all of the forum posts, read interviews with Kim, or listen to her pressers.

I saw when she said that, the problem is these recruits are making decisions now, so they are going off what they see. By the time it changes, they will be off the board so it won’t matter. Nobody played over 26 mins, that’s not ideal for a top player. Juju and Kiki played 40 and 32 mins, these are the type of top players I’m talking about.

Sobeit. I'm confident that we'll be able to get the tools that we need even without players who can't stand the idea of playing with hard enough effort on the court that they'll need to refresh on the bench throughout the game. If the system that's going to get us back to winning is a no-go for them, then I'd rather win without them than lose with them...

And looking at the talent we were able to get in over the offseason, I'm not too worried about the top end of our teams anyway. And there is a flip side also to losing some recruits to the system for this reason: we'll also win and keep some solid basketball players on our team who can feel secure knowing that even if they aren't top 6-7 on the team, they'll still see solid minutes per game, able to prove themselves in gametime as a player who should get even more minutes, rather than getting stuck on the bench at a lot of other Power conference schools. Those girls are much less likely to transfer away when the transition to SEC ball proves challenging for them, because the minutes are distributed amongst the top 12 players anyway.

In fact, let me ask you directly, newladyvolfan. What do you think about the roster that the coaching staff built for this season? Those players, including those who thought about leaving but chose to stay, had to be recruited. And it seems like we're doing quite well on that front.

Facts! These folks are talking nonsense.
Mia Pauldo is ranked higher and is a better player than some of these same 2025 prospects that they have praised as top prospects for years.
I can count on one hand the high school prospects that I would rank close to or slightly higher than Mia Pauldo. Davidson, Betts, and Chavez right now. Mia has the highest upside of any prospect in her class. Mya Pauldo is going to be an outstanding player as well. She is a great leader and excellent defender. Saying the staff hasn’t gotten a commitment from a top prospect(s) is just ignorant.
