The committee chair literally said the opposite of this. He said they would build scenarios based on championship outcomes. That’s when they’re announced. That’s not the same as when the decisions are made and the bracket is set.
It’s been stated many times by committee chairs over the years that the bracket is set before the SEC championship is over so it’s not considered.
I want the winner to be the most capable of beating Alabama. I think that’s Kentucky especially behind that home crowd they’ll have. If there’s still a shot at a 1-seed even if it’s a long shot, I’d think we want Bama and Florida to lose to middle of the pack SEC teams rather than getting a win in the tournament under their belt.Hopefully Oklahoma pounds Kensucky's face in tmmrw night.

He did a 1st Round game in the Sun Belt last week (but interestingly no other games in that tournament, presumably because he sucks). I could be mistaken, but I believe that jackwagon even got to do SEC games again after that dox.Has that dude been exiled from the SEC after the hack job he gave Tennessee against LSU? Is he even still officiating?
Unreal. I don't know how any supervisor of officials brings him into their association if they take an objective look at that game he called between Tennessee and LSU with a conference championship on the line.He did a 1st Round game in the Sun Belt last week (but interestingly no other games in that tournament, presumably because he sucks). They always say that they want to draw interest in the tournaments. Their brackets are drawn as we speak, and the only changes they will make are when an unseeded team wins the automatic bid. They keep saying that this SEC tournament will help decide the number one seeding in NCAA, but I don't recall that ever helping us with it.
Most conferences do it this way, even if they have 16 teams. For one thing, it rewards teams at the top for doing well, especially in smaller conferences with more on the line in the conference tournament. Secondly, if you had 1 v 16, 2 v15, etc, you would either have to play at multiple arenas to get the games in where everyone plays on the same day, or you'd still be giving certain teams a big advantage by getting a day off while you get the 2nd half slate of games in.Old man in the middle of the night question.
Why with 16 teams are we using the current format instead of NORMAL seeding where every team has same number of games?
WED 1-4 play 13-16, THUR 5-8 play 9-12 and pick up right where we are on FRI. Top seeds rewarded with 1 day off not 2. ASSUMING 8 games on day 1 is not practical.
Did we just morph from the 14 team format?
Sorry if this is old and settled and I missed it.
