He doesn’t help our one continuous problem of losing games though. Outside of last years home game verse Kentucky name a time we’ve lost a shootout. Our inability to put the ball in the hoop is a glaring problem with every team we’ve had since grant and admiral. I’m tired of losing games 54-50… I want some legit scorers.I’ll hate. Mashack is an elite defender. Except for fouling 3-point shooters which didn’t use to happen.

Not talking about just this season… Keon and Springer year same issue the Covid year before we weren’t gonna make the tourney… zakai got hurt 2 years ago but that offense still wasn’t great and last year we were completely DK dependent. I love Barnes he’s my favorite coach at the university right now but it’s just odd that all of these portal guys we get their percentages drop considerably within his system. Don’t know the reason it’s just curiousWell, in 21 games, we scored in the 40s once (FL), 50s once (Barn), and 60s 4x. The other 15 were 70 or more. We’re 4-0 in the games in the 60s.
Ament, Burries and Mallory would be the perfect finish. With that being said, this is the recruiting thread. Let’s get ament, burries, or both and finish with Mallory. That will be a great haul and we will have a legit three level scorer.
The percentage drops aren't always unheard of, even at other places. Most of these guys are stepping way up in competition. The looks are going to be harder to get, they have to work harder to get open, they have to exert more energy on defense playing in the best conference in the country. Lots of reasons to see a dip in efficiency. In Chaz Lanier's case, all of those apply, and perhaps more unique to him, his attempts have actually gone up at Tennessee, which is another cause for a drop in efficiency. Not talking about just this season… Keon and Springer year same issue the Covid year before we weren’t gonna make the tourney… zakai got hurt 2 years ago but that offense still wasn’t great and last year we were completely DK dependent. The crazy thing to me is mark pope literally said after the game that he left our guys open on purpose knowing we weren’t gonna make threes when needed to. That’s a personnel problem imo.The percentage drops aren't always unheard of, even at other places. Most of these guys are stepping way up in competition. Maybe, but not drastically. I might go 65/40/10 in that case. Ament, more than any of the others, seems like it could be a bidding war. And not that he's making a decision based on one game/outcome, but we didn't really show him a great glimpse of our system, Tuesday night.Would those odds change at all if I told you Ament’s gf attends UT?
That’s fair, not sure I’ve ever heard of a recruit really impacted by 1 game, if anything he probably saw we need a guy we can throw the ball to and count on to get a bucket.Maybe, but not drastically. I believe they can, too, and I can appreciate your optimism. Part of my lower expectations is that it doesn't seem that Mallory is maybe as much of a sure thing as we had once hoped. Hopefully his OV this weekend changes that. That’s fair, not sure I’ve ever heard of a recruit really impacted by 1 game, if anything he probably saw we need a guy we can throw the ball to and count on to get a bucket.
I think they can absolutely land one of the Burries and Ament to go with Mallory, JMO
