2025 Target List

I feel like this is a good question for everyone. Do you guys think this will pass or not?

Also someone stated that a couple of transfers had reached out and wanted to come for sure. How true do we think that is? BTO any update on that?
It’s tabled until the house settlement in April at which point it’s expected to pass quickly, the timing could definitely be tricky for roster construction/scholarship limits.

I’m sure there’s a lot of back channeling, I know of 1 for sure the staff thinks will be coming here next year, but nothing is ever 100%.

It may pass but it probably won’t be in time for this senior class really.

The reason why I say that...

Chaz Lanier = 1 year sub seven figures and he's leading the team in scoring at 17.9 ppg shooting 42.2% from deep (5th highest % in a season in school history)
Dalton Knecht = 1 year sub seven figures, SEC POY, All-American, All-Sec, 17th overall pick put himself top 10 for a season in Field Goals, 3PT Field Goals, 3PT % and 2nd all time in points for a season only the 2nd Vol to surpass 750 ever

Not saying you shouldn't go get top HS talent, just that for what it cost in today's game I'd want to see them earn their keep...when we've had such good recent success with 1 year portal additions for far less $$$
High school talent just because what they'll command in NBA draft is going to be a huge cost. Lanier having a great season probably at best a 2nd round pick.

Yeah, and for me as a fan of Vols basketball I'd rather get the on court results and better value for these portal players that are willing to come buy in and work to get better.

Not my money to spend though, if Ament is a Vol I'll be happy as a pig in mud...especially if he balls and earns a spot as a top 5 draft pick as projected.

Couple of things, if the 5th year passes and scholarships stay at 13 how much room do we have if everyone returns? 8 potential returnees plus 2 signees, so that leaves room for just 3 potentially. Not saying that’s how it shakes but there’s a path to it not being 6.

I think you can probably get Burries & Mallory for about half total of what Ament is wanting, you’re talking about a Top 3 guy who wants Top 3 money, considering the #1 player is getting close to $10m total from BYU you can imagine that Ament probably isn’t coming for cheap.
Wait - BYU is paying a HS recruit $10 million? We know that for sure?

I'm not sure how much BYU is paying him. It seems they may be paying him $5 mil while the rest is coming from outside endorsements.
The Nike & RedBull came to fruition due to his move to Utah which was also funded by BYU, so splitting hairs as to what they’re given him but BYU is responsible for roughly $10m he and his family have gotten between senior year and freshman year there.

7 million?!? Wow, didn’t realize his deal was worth that much. The funniest part was the quote from the guy saying BYU is the best development program for him. 🤔
They’re certainly developing his net worth! This is crazy money and the schools are completely to blame. They obviously can’t control themselves and are complicit with throwing crazy stupid money at these kids. It will be what kills the goose that lays the golden eggs. How long before most of us loose interest in UT programs when the kids make way more than the fans earn at their jobs?

Hate to break it to you but that threshold was passed awhile ago

according to Jamie Shaw we are running 3rd for Ament behind Duke and Louisville. Feels like a situation where we won't offer as much as them
Im ok with vols not getting Ament if they land Mallory and then get big scorer in portal. With the caveat the seniors are able to come back
