2025 Transfer Portal Thread

If we're realizing our money is not enough, I don't see that just being instantly fixed. That money has to come from somewhere. With the amount of holes we need to fill with good (expensive) players, I think we might be in trouble. I think the fact that we're talking about a Vandy bench player as our next target says a lot. I'm sure he wasn't at the top of the list.

I don’t mind Carey, but i’m really concerned with the spacing. Okpara, Carey, Estrella, Phillips and Brown. Good depth but none of them can shoot which is going to once again limit us on offense

If we get the Carey that whipped the hell out of us twice, it’s amazing.

But those two performances seem to be exceptions.
I meant compared to who we are losing to other teams. He’s a fine player but compared to the guys we’re missing out on, he’s meh.

None of them went to the Elite 8. Chaz did. DK did…each without the other. With each other, it stands to reason they’d have gone at least one step further.
True, but I suspect having Rick Barnes as coach was the even bigger difference. Allen Houston, Grant Williams, etc etc. There have been some mighty fine players that did not make the Elite 8 while at Tennessee. Coach Barnes is the difference, in my opinion.

We definitely have not adjusted to the current situation. Not many coaches could bring in DK, Chaz or Gillespie at the numbers we spent. Whoever the new guy is after CRB will ask for a huge NIL number. Wish we’d just give it up now.
…wish we would spend our way to the final four
We’re spending our way to the last four in.

I am working with a family right now where the young man really wants to go to Arkansas. He is from there. It was all set, but then another school just stepped in and offered money that as his dad put it (paraphrasing, even though I am using quotation marks) "is more money for one year of playing a game than I made in my last 30 years of my career combined". It really is crazy for some of these kids.

Alvaro plays below the rim. I've pointed it out earlier in the thread but I'm not sure he translates as good as his ranking and price suggest.

And yes -- I know he scored 15/10 against Alabama in the first round. I watched.
The way Alabama plays "defense", if you don't score a double-double it means you probably aren't even an average college player

Better hope JP's foot heals up. Going to need that guy
Has there been any updates on his injury status? Comments in here seem to allude to the possibility of him not being ready for next season -- the injury would be over a year old by that point, how could he not be ready??
