2025 Transfer Portal Thread

I love Barnes but part of coaching is roster construction. Just doesn’t make sense to have that many post players where none of them can shoot and or handle the ball and get to the rim
I don’t think this means they are done looking for a stretch 4. We don’t need those guys shooting 18 footers- just be able to throw it in the post and get some scoring. I believe JP can be that guy.

The way Alabama plays "defense", if you don't score a double-double it means you probably aren't even an average college player

This has become a misleading talking point this year. This was true of Alabama LAST year, but for most of this year Alabama was Top 50 KenPom on defense and finished the year at #27 in AdjD. So, no, Alabama does not play “no defense.” They just aren’t the elite defensive team we are.

Another reason to not waste brain waves on recruiting and the portal. Just enjoy who shows up on the roster on gameday and cheer for them.
This mindset is even more appropriate for the NIL era. Too much daily "noise," so it's better to see where the chips fall. Barnes hasn't let us down yet, so there's no reason not to trust him to assemble a competitive team.

Vanderbilt transfer forward Jaylen Carey could be a target for Tennessee to fortify its frontcourt even more. Carey averaged 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 33 games after following coach Mark Byington from James Madison. It is likely there is interest on both sides.
Didnt he also mention the kid that rejected us and went with UL being on the radar? Might have misread it, but that kinda makes me question his information.

same sadly
Not a huge fan of the other targets either. At this point (yes I’m just complaining) it feels like we would rather wait and see if we can bring the seniors back.

I get ROI is important and I won’t argue that. It’s just hard to grasp we got beat for McKneely, Alvaro.
