What were you implying when you stated, “we offer her more than she can get anywhere else?”

They mean compared to ETSU, Lamar, or UT-Martin. The only other schools that could possibly be interested in her.

I’ll believe her emphasis on the 3 when she recruits an actual proven consistent 3 pt sharp shooter.

I expect her to be on our team so we need to support her 100 percent. Tennessee is a huge upgrade from SMU. Hope she does well here.

Since it’s apparent we’re now looking at bench depth at guard, I’m turning my hopes toward post. Has there been any word on Smaya Smith? Visits? Leans? If we could get her I’d feel a lot better about at least one area of need

Were her best offer. Were any player that has speed best offer. She fits what we do just wish she was a better shooter.

I wouldn't focus too much on her field goal percentages, because apparently she had to put up a lot of shots for her team...she's 5'7", but CKC is talking about adding 10 more points to last seasons avg... we need bucket fillers too...LVFL

With her shooting %s better hope we get some offensive rebounding post players from the portal, too.

I see what you're saying, though, she only had two games last year where she shot fewer than 12 FG attempts, and she would not be shooting nearly as much at Tennessee, so the hope is the efficiency would improve. And if she's having a hot shooting night (she shot 40% or better on 3s in about 1/3 of their games last year) then you can play her more.

She is a career 34% shooter so….
Shot 32.5 last year which would have been worst on our team this year.
Shoots free throws at 76%

Only big positive I see for Robertson is she gives us speed depth. Which is something we desperately missed last season. The deeper we went, the slower we got. Nice to not lose that speed edge going deeper in your bench.

She can also score with pace. The games she struggled were against teams who turned it into a half court, slow game. We aren’t going to have many of those. If she can score 10pts that’s better than that position last year. We have plenty of room for some depth recruits at this point.

Kim’s system is predicated on high energy. I could see Nya being a problem in the press, which will take some pressure off Coop to have to be the one generating most of the steals. I think Jaida Civil will do that as well - allowing Coop to just hoop.

It’s still early, so I’m hoping we have a great shooter (Todd) who commits to TN.

At least she is decent from the three 31 percent so that is somewhat positive.

That is a positive for sure. If she is a Lady Vol, I am glad to have her. Although this does make me think we’re not really looking ito bring any of the more established players or name players out of the portal. Not real excited about what were doing mainly because thus far nothing addresses the team weaknesses from last season. Just have to believe it will all work out in the end.

Ruby Whitehorn and Talaysia Cooper are McDonald’s All-Americans and last season they were able to play in a top blue blood at Tennessee to solidify their resume as players which heading into next season will only elevate their profile. Lazaria Spearman is another player that completely changed her profile and will get looks as a future WNBA player heading into her senior season. Can’t listen to a poster like that other one above.
They would be ready to throw a parade for a player like Cotie if money was spent to sign them ignoring the fact that they couldn’t outperform neither of the three TN players listed above in the NCAA tourney on Ohio State homecourt. Yet would still claim our kids are role players just because social media tells everyone Cotie was the #3 player in the transfer portal lol.

On a positive note, nearly every LV improved their shooting percentages under Kim's system, at least slightly, from their prior year. Probably because the system gives them more open shots. That would bode well for any player she adds.

Someone like Latson(herself) loss to the team of role players as you put it. The team of role players beat UConn too the eventual National Champions. They are established nothing a post will take from them Lambos.

Looking at all phases of the game, I would rather have Cooper than Latson. By the slimmest of margins, but still, I roll with Cooper and she's just going to get better.
