2025 Transfer Portal

Could Tennessee possibly go after Miles? Could be a good idea and young pg's can learn from her. Think she is a good fit with the fast-paced but just not a good defender. Spencer was not a good defender either for Tennessee this yr.

She wouldn’t play in this system, so the answer is no.

I could see SC going for Latson, not many of these others tbh.
SC is going to be in the sweepstakes for best in the portal, they may strike out, who knows, but they are really going strong for Latson and another I won’t mention yet.

they feel good either way but two nice pieces to work with if it happened. Tbh, they have a lineup next year to get it done in spite of the portal. Looking for some cream, but the coffee will be good already.

worse case: Kitts, Edwards, Fulwiley, Tessa J and Raven J starting with McDaniels, Makeer, Tac, McDowell and Dauda off the bench. Watkins could come back before year end, but the one portal I have not mentioned a name for is a big, and a good one. I’m not ready to name this one yet, I’m told it’s a fight with another team. I am anxious to see how it plays out.

For those that do not know this already, SC is not huge in NIL$, never has been. They sell playing for Dawn and getting developed for the W to their recruits. They are solid albeit average in NIL funds to spend. They started an early program to pay each player $25,000 per year when NIL was first approved. That isn’t big money anymore.

If what I looked up is correct, NIL can be way more than the base rookie salary in the WNBA so kids who aren't marketable enough to get big endorsement deals at the pro level will likely opt to stay in college for as long as they can. Miles seems to be an example of that.

There are journeyman players who come off the bench for teams in the bottom half of their conferences who make more than WNBA rookies. I know what at least one of them makes and it is substantially more.

Doesn't necessarily have to be one or the other. A player can turn pro and earn the rookie salary PLUS get endorsement deals to equal or, in some cases I'm guessing, surpass NIL deals. That seems somewhat to depend on their level of conventional attractiveness.

Barnes said that players were trying to redshirt because of Nil so they could stay five years. Guess redshirting doesn't affect getting paid. Doubt many coaches will go along with that happening.

LSU fans on twitter saying Smith was a problem due to dating her teammates. I knew she and Poa dated and had some sort of issues. Apparently Smith dated more than one teammate and it caused drama.

We already spent a pretty good chunk of change to land the Pauldos. I doubt we could afford Miles at this point.
