I find it quite ironic that Memphis experienced the year they had last season. Hardaway proclaimed them to win a national championship. Their fans were irate at their preseason rankings. Then the season happened, and things turned out not-so-well for the Tigers.Kennedy Chandlers Top Ten
From Tiger high board
Love the one Memphis St fan saying Chandler better get used to losing
Because he can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.Give both the same talent and Barnes wins 90% of the time.I find it quite ironic that Memphis experienced the year they had last season. It was a great job by Barnes and company, no doubt. But, I think we knew early on that this was a kid and his family that wasn't going to be the status quo from the past. His intelligence and family support was going to make him a possibility for not only Duke and Kentucky, but Tennessee as well. Whether he committed to us or not, I was impressed and glad to see a young man with as much integrity as Kennedy.I just want to take a moment to emphasize the magnitude of this and to point out that Rick Barnes went into the city of Memphis and landed the #1 PG in the country. A player Memphis coveted, and beat not only Memphis (his hometown) for him, but Duke (his dream school), Kentucky, and North Carolina. That’s 3 blue bloods and his hometown school that few recruits escape from when Memphis really wants them. And he did it with two 5* and two 4*guards already on the roster.
Wow, just wow. This is easily Barnes’s beat recruiting job to date based on the obstacles and competition.

Yes, and they caught a Tennessee team in complete turmoil at the time, Yet, the game could have gone either way. If the game is played in Nashville this year, I expect a Vol win!Barnes could have (and should have) beat Memphis last year with arguably their most talented roster in decades even sans Wiseman. Penny has the AAU connections and will continue to recruit well, but he is a terrible coach. He’ll continue to lose games in his weak conference when he should be running the table with the talent he is going to get. Come to the ACC, SEC, or Big-10 and Memphis would be middle of the road at best
