Six wins, a rock-bottom bowl game and a top 25-- no make that top 30-- recruiting class, and people are content? Constant lowering of expectations doesn't win championships. It isn't even the first step toward a return to relevance.

Dooley and last year's staff could have pulled that off, and he was the worst coach in modern UT history. So now we've theoretically "upgraded"-- at a cost of $6+ mil -- and these are STILL our expectations? We need to pull in a top 15 class to win in the SEC and be on our way. Even then, we'll be behind all of our rivals and playing catch-up. But progress has to start somewhere, and it needs to start with this recruiting class. The "world's best coaching staff" needs to step up. Now's the time.

How do you plan on getting them to come here? All we heard from Dooley and Kiffin were the facilities needed upgraded. Well guess what they are now possibly the best in the nation. Although the 4 and 5 stars are still laying off UT. QUOTE]

Tells me, UT should have spent more money on hiring the best coaches instead of building the best facilities.

Coaching is everything in NCAA football. The same teams win every year because of coaching. Kids want to go where they will play early, play on TV, play for national championships, but most importantly play for a coach that will prepare them for the NFL.

What about our academics? Recruiting services are matching athletes to schools based on their interest,...etc.... Do we offer enough of a variety to interest the 4 and 5 stars?

We didn't go after the homerun though. So what do you do at this point? You have to coach up to get some wins and pull those kids to you. So thanks to all the idiots blasting the 3*'s that we are getting. I am sure while getting blasted by their own fans on how they dont have enough stars they are going to put that extra % in there to give their all.

I totally agree with that statement. I am happy with the Butch Jones hire. He's definitely a huge upgrade over the two FB hires made by Hamilton.

I was just pointing out how Hamilton hired two guys with limited experience and losing records. Those two clowns ran the program with the "great facilities" into the ground.

Jones was a good hire. He has won everywhere he has been.
