Springer and KJ are not the problem. We had no depth at the 5 and when Fulky went down, we were screwed. We were really young and he was the vet leader. Without Fulky to run high screens and dribble handoffs, the offense was stagnant.

With the benefit of hindsight, our offense should have gone thru KJ a lot more since he is our best dribble-drive guy that would have meant we had 3 shooters off ball. We tried offense by committee instead of building a hierarchy and it didn't work. All 3 5-stars are quality players. JS and KJ will get drafted high for good reason.

They'll get better. They were forcing the action and it cost us with a lot of turnovers, air balls and missed shots. They still have work to do as shooters, but the real issue was 0 post game.

Fulky was out and Pons was a no show besides his fouls impact. When Plasvic passed up a 4 foot shot in front of the rim because he reacts slow and plays 6 inches shorter he was done. ORN looked like if he played any extended minutes then he would be a liability the entire time. That is why believe or not they turned to Anosike in the 2nd half to provide a breather.

These recruiting rankings are such a craps shoot. Williams, schofield, and bone were all better than anyone currently on the roster. Now could Johnson, springer, and James get to their level? Yes I’d say so. Perhaps Johnson could surpass all 3. But not as an 18 year old kid. He needs a couple of years of hitting the weight room and high level competition day in/day out. He also needs to really define his game. He kinda plays a lot of almost street ball. Anyway, that’s the college game. If a 5 star possible 1 and done player is willing to come to your school you take him. But in the long run you’re better off with the high level 3 star that’s going to put in several years of work.

So you tell me which game he has played that was more important to him. He said before the game this is what players dream of and grow up watching NCAA tourneys waiting their turn.

Could be Kentucky and Duke. They would have loved to trade spots with us with all the 4 and 5*’s they have!!! Guess Duke should fire Coach K for not making the tourney?

One big difference is Coach K has 5 national championships already....and unlike Vols...were getting better as the season went on. Vols got considerably worse..... AGAIN.

Devoe won his SECT by winning just 2 games due to the double bye. The first win was versus an Auburn team with a losing record playing their 3rd game in 3 days. The championship game was TN’s 2nd game versus KY playing their 4th game in 4 days. KY also knocked the SEC regular season champion out of the SECT so TN didn’t have to beat LSU.

So he beat Auburn? Something Barnes is unable to do. I think Pearl would beat Barnes if Barnes had a team of nba all stars.
