Even more telling to me is that Cutcliffe was his biggest supporter (according to some on here), yet Cut didn't even ask Coleman to transfer to Duke.

Cut probably couldn't have gotten Coleman admitted to Duke. You just don't "transfer to Duke."

Fact: our genius fans in Chattanooga will keep making excuses for B.J. Coleman's suckitude for the rest of his life.

He wouldn't have started at Duke either.

He would have eventually to be honest. He's not as terrible as some of the douchebags on here try to make him seem and not as almighty as the opposites claim.

We are all making excuses for the fact that B.J. Coleman lit up the 3rd ranked and most famous FCS program with an unranked team with inferior talent.

I think we simply claim he is better than the worst starting QB back in UT history.

I think I can claim the guy for McNeese State threw for a bunch of yards against Appy State, as well. Surely by now some BCS teams has picked him up and he'll be a surprise Heisman candidate this year.

Quite a lot of small school qbs have proven to be better than bcs school qbs for what its worth. Id take quite a few of em this year over what we have.

That's true. Those BCS guys don't often get drafted. Just wondering where the thread is for the McNeese guy that "lit up" Appy State for more yards than BJ.

I am still trying to figure out how Coleman is going to turn Chatt into a NC contender, especially when he hasn't even been that good so far in his FCS career.

Don't you realize that a good opener means you're bound for greatness all season? Nate Longshore, for example, had a terrible opener in 2006 and a great one in 2007. I don't have the W/L records in front of me, but I'm certain Cal did horrible in 2006 and fantastic the next year.

UTC will probably be pretty good these next two seasons but their new coach deserves more credit than BJ for that. He obviously is a nice addition for them though.

Who is Appy State's Special Team's Coach?

Is he one of ours?

Anybody know for sure?

How is he doing?

They lost to appy state by 1 point on 3 missed extra points and a failed 2 point conversion at the end. I dont think its much of a stretch

And BJ Coleman has still been a solid, but unspectacular QB at the FCS level thus far. "Solid, but unspectacular" doesn't win championships for average programs.

How dare you!

Don't you realize that if Coleman had transferred to Martin instead of UTC that Martin would have beaten us by 32 points Saturday?

UTC isn't close to an average program. They've typically been the SoCon equivalent of Vanderbilt.

Yeah they've been downright bad for the past few years. Elon has been on the up and up and Wofford/GaSouthern are sometimes there... but App is simply the class of the conference by a longshot.

Chattanooga has a good combo of some experienced skill guys and a quarterback to deliver the ball.
