Clemson has elite athletes all over the field, including on offense. This is not in dispute. UGA flat whooped them with their D which everyone knows is legit. Clemson's D is almost equally good though.

2021 College Football Team Talent Composite
High school ranking don’t mean anything on the field what a dumb argument and they scored 3 points just like ga’s offense does that mean clemsons D is elite too? Lol

Dabo had to beat those playoff teams to win a National Championship.

He’s done it twice.
He’s able to build depth and rest starters unlike any other P5 coach due to their schedule/competition. One of the ESPN guys said yesterday morning that Clemson had 100 guys who received in game snaps in 2020 and it was due to their blowout wins. That no doubt pays off in the playoffs when an SEC or even Big 10 team is beaten up from the regular season. They’re better than Boise State but it’s not too dissimilar in saying Boise beat OU, UGA, VT etc. in the past so they must be able to compete week in and week out. If Dabo took his last 6 Clemson teams to the SEC for the entire year do you think he has 6 straight playoff appearances? Does he have more than Kirby? Possibly. But it’s nothing like what he’s done.

Play the teams in front of you. He’s shown he can get it done against the best too. Far and clear better than Kirby.
Don’t disagree, but you can’t say play the teams in front of you and discount that one has an infinitely tougher schedule in front of them and that it directly impacts your ability to make it to the playoffs. How many appearances in 5 years would Kirby have if he played Clemson’s schedule? How many would Dabo have he had played UGA’s schedule? I’m also not willing to write off a coach after 5 yrs as unable to win a title when we’re comparing him to a guy who “choked” himself for the first 6 years of his career.

Kirby is now 53-14 in 5 seasons and 1 game (45-9 after his first year) including 10-6 versus Top 10 opponents. I wish we could find a coach as bad as he is.

Fair enough so again how do we know for sure Georgia and Clemson’s offense is good? Is your argument because they were high ranked in high school?
Do you think we hold UGA under 40 points? I don't see it, I think they'll put up big numbers against alot of people as the year goes on, same with Clemson. I think it's the first game of the season, offenses are always behind the defenses this time of year, and neither UGA or Clemson played some scrimmage game like most teams, for the same reason, you haven't seen me posting any panic about our offense just yet. Alot of offenses will be much more efficient by mid season.

Bro their offenses managed 3 points I don’t care if it’s the first game or the last game that is bad. We wouldn’t be having this conversation if they scored at least one TD but they didn’t this isn’t the 90’s the offense needs to be able to score points…

Clemson’s offense is always good. They have replaced high draft QBs with high draft QBs. I think we can know It is good, because history says it will be. DJU threw for about 1000 yards in his 2 starts last year. One of those games was against ND where they also failed to run the ball. DJU is good. Is pat maholmes and the KC chiefs offense not good anymore because the last time you saw them the Tampa front demolished them only allowing 9 points? Sometimes defenses can make even the best look pedestrian. It’s more likely that is what happened to both offenses (especially Clemson’s) last night than both teams averaging 21 points a game this season.

They also took no risks because they knew their defense had it. Like Herbstreit said, when they were up 10-0, it was like being up 30 the way their D was playing. Also they were missing multiple guys on offense due to injury Washington, Pickens, Blaylock, that's 3 five stars they should have back at the end of the year. I'm far from sold on J.T. Daniels, he's not a Heisman candidate by any means, but he may be good enough considering the remainder of the team if they get healthy. It's week 1, the jury is still out on a great many things. We'll see what happens.

How are you using the nfl as an example for college football? Clemson lost Trevor Lawrence and a slew of good OL and WR’s from last year whereas KC still has Pat mahomes and all of his weapons…terrible takes from supposed Tennessee fans lol

I’m just saying we have seen DJU put up huge huge numbers in a big game. And we know they are always one of the most talented and well coached teams in football, so, based on history we can reasonably expect them to put points up this year. You can bet against the Clemson offense if you want, I will bet they average 37+ a game the rest of the season

He put up big numbers on a always overrated ND team last year…where he had a lot more playmakers on offense and a better offensive line

Lots of Vol fans in here carrying water for a trash program and an obnoxious, needy, whinny fanbase. Truly amazing and disappointing.

uga can win it all and they are, have been, and will always be a trash, knee-hunting, jerkwater program with the neediest, rudest, most annoying fanbase in sports.

But, carry their water if it makes you feel better. Believe me, they love it, need it, and crave the attention.

Like labradors.

He had more known playmakers last year (it was also November when we saw him start). You asked how do we know the offense is good, I posited that they have a sustained history of being really good on offense, it’s more likely they are still good on offense than they just fell off the cliff of relevance. But the season is here, so we will know more about all teams in the coming weeks

So what exactly are you saying? Do you think UGA's offense will be bottom half of the SEC? They played freaking Clemson in game 1, do they suck? Maybe, but I'm not sure you can draw that conclusion after week 1. We KNOW Clemson's defense is legit because they had like 9-10 starters returning on that side of the ball, not to mention Brett Venables is probably the premier DC in college football. This desire to make sweeping judgments after 1 week is really out of control, just like the doomsday reaction to our 38-6 win. Nevermind the fact that we straight up lost to a Bowling Green type team in the opener 2 years ago, at least we handled business in week 1 this year. Let things play out. I'd be pretty fired up if we beat # 3 the first week of the season, even if we beat them 3-2, I'm not gonna lie.
