Not looking for affirmation. Just rational, objective observation, which some on here are capable of. Sorry, I'm not a hater. I honestly thought UT was on its way back when they hard CJP, and I said so. Other than that I come here because its free and occasionally there's some witty, self deprecating tish that I can identify with.
I knew the fan card was coming from you; that’s your standard go to (again emotional). Your statement that Kirby is inferior is supported in nothing except he hasn’t won a title…yet. You completely ignore, and act like it has no relevance, that Dabo has been a HC more than twice as long as Kirby has and all of his success has come on the back 1/2 to 1/3 of his career. Did you say Dabo was a great coach coach from 2008-2015 in relation to Urban, Saban, Stoops, Fisher, Spurrier when he was failing to achieve the same level of success? I sure hope so. Now 6 years further into his career it can be argued that he’s better or just as good as Stoops and Fisher for sure, maybe Spurrier as well, if the only criteria is NC’s and beating Saban. In 7 more years, if Kirby is still NC’less then it will be fair to say he’s not as good of a coach as Dabo is.
Kirby isn’t a better coach than Saban or Dabo, but does that make him a bad coach? If the criteria for not being bad is being better than Saban or Dabo then there’s no good coaches in the ncaa. Since smart took over at UGA only 3 coaches have 50 wins, a playoff win, and a conference championship. Those 3 are Saban, Dabo, and…. Smart. Is Smart better than Saban or even close? Absolutely not. Is he good or successful? Absolutely.
