Even if they have a blimp for this game, we wont know how many Vol fans are there.
The wx forecast calls for upper teens that night. All fans will have on overcoats or parkas of some sort.
Who owns a heavy Scarlet or Orange coat?
I don’t.
Just wear one of your orange hoodies or jerseys over your coat.

Trip is getting cheaper by the minute.

Tickets going for less than $200 now if you don't mind the upper level
8pm game so you can leave Knoxville at 9am and make it there in plenty of time to park and take it all in
Hotel rooms about an hour out (Holiday Inn Express/Hampton in types) are about $120 a night Sat night

As a life long inhabitant of the Ohio Valley, I can tell you the phrase "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute" was never more true.

I agree with our friend here - to get something somewhat accurate, take a look come Thursday or late Wednesday.
This is true in most of the world. If you want to know what the weather may be like on a certain day, you’ve gotta wait until 2-3 days beforehand for a forecast to be accurate. This is especially true in winter in America in the East. Several years back, my forecast was for a low of -19 one day and I was appalled thinking all of our trees would die. The actual low that day was 18 as the polar vortex actually settled west down into Southern Texas.

That’s why I’m still saying, a week out, the temperature for the game could be anywhere from frigid to comfortable.

Can osu season ticket holders not purchase through their ticket office?
My understanding of this is that the OSU season ticketholders would be offered tickets, and Tennessee would get an allotment. What we are seeing in this post and others is where the tickets offered on the secondary market are going. As several have commented the prices are relatively low. Our home games for opponents with a pulse were going for multiples of what these tickets are going for on Stubhub, Seat Geek, etc. So it makes sense that many Vols fans who went to few if any regular season games would be buying these. Its like a sale on the biggest game of the year. Similar to our recent bowl games. My brother and I went to see that Iowa beat down and sat 50 yard line 10 rows up for $100. Granted wasn't our original seats. lol. The demand for games at Neyland is insane compared to most road games and it seems its carrying over the the CFP. GBO

It's the wind that can be volatile up there in my limited experience. What looks like just an overcast day suddenly blows into a snow squall and the temperature bottoms out. No real snow but just blustery for an hour or so.

Without the sunshine, I imagine a night game in mid December, if the wind kicks up during the game might be annoying. Night games aren't a thing up there in the later months, are they?
The last time I checked they don’t play in the cold weather either. Their season ends in November and our mountain temps are comparable. Their players are from all over the country

Stupid statement.
Literally every state says that
Florida
Texas

I'm seeing people who rarely go to games in Neyland who live in East TN buy tickets to go to the shoe. It's just crazy. I don't know about 35k but id imagine this is up there with the most visiting fans to pack the shoe.
Probably because, If you're not a season ticket holder this is the cheapest ticket to a big game in years.

20 straight sellouts will do that to your wallet.
We have a younger group of followers
OSU has always been the old over the hill crowd fan base.

Very true for New Jersey. They have been using the "if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes" line here since I was a kid.
