38-1

I have watched Cal and his teams from his first game here in Memphis till now and this just might be his best team to date. These guys are going to be really good. (((JMO)))

I wonder how this team will hold up when we face real competition. Kansas should tell us quite a bit.

I think KU with Cliff Alexander and company should be a really good test. I really like watching Trey Lyles play tonight, I think he has a bright future ahead of him, but so does most of this UK team.

It's had to really say how good they will be after 2 exhibition blowouts, but I agree with Robbins. The KU game is a key test.

The scoring was really spread out. It will be interesting to see who the go-to big man will be.

*EDIT*

I think defensively the choice is:

KU has some really good bigs. They also always seem to have some great guards that can shoot. It will be interesting to see the Arky transfer Micklelson play again.

John Calipari's deep Kentucky Wildcats team cruised to more than another runaway victory in its exhibition finale Sunday night against perennial NAIA power Georgetown College. The preseason No. 1 thoroughly won over another admirer in the process.

"Those guys are unreal," Georgetown coach Chris Briggs told reporters after the Wildcats dismantled the Tigers 121-52 at Rupp Arena. "I told the guys in the locker room, [the Wildcats] could have beaten some NBA teams tonight, there's no question in my mind.

Wow. That's some love.

It looks like Calipari didn't want his team believing that:

Calipari says the Cats would get “buried” by an NBA team | Kentucky Sports Radio

Briggs, a former UK grad assistant, told reporters he believed Kentucky “could have beaten some NBA teams tonight,” going as far to compare them to an NBA playoff team. John Calipari, Aaron Harrison, and Dakari Johnson quickly shot that down, with Calipari joking with Briggs “Are you really gonna do that to me, man?”.

This morning, Cal took to Twitter to pump the brakes a little bit more before the BBN’s expectations get completely out of control (again):

John Calipari ✔ @UKCoachCalipari

I hear Coach Briggs got excited after the game last night. Let me be clear: If we played ANY NBA team, we would get buried. ANY.

Yeah that's a good call by coach Cal, he knows he has some really good (future pros) guys on his team but gotta keep them in check at the same time.

Even after the success during these exhibitions, I still think we lose 5 or more games. It will be interesting to see how we handle a team that is able to run an offensive set against us. KU may be one of them.

I don't know, I think 5 might be just a little high but anything can happen any given night so you might be right but right now I would take the under on that. (IMO)

I'll go ahead and say we lose 4 games. 2 OOC. 1 SEC. Lose in the SEC final and then win the tourney. Kinda like 2012.

Well our own media outlets can't seem to keep from over-hyping this team:

BTI’s Rants and Ramblings: Can UK Break Any Conference Scoring Margin Marks? | Kentucky Sports Radio

Let’s be honest, Kentucky might not win all 40 games this year, but there are going to be some games where they absolutely hammer opponents. And that will likely include several SEC teams. But does UK have any chance to put RECORD beatings on it’s SEC opponents. Below are the margin of victory record for UK with the 11 SEC members (Mizzou and A&M not really in the league long enough), including overall, on the road, and in the modern era of the league. Look through these and then decide which one(s) you might think would be easiest for Kentucky to break this year.

ALABAMA
Biggest Win: 42 points (1949, 74-32)
in Tuscaloosa: 25 points (1954, 68-43)
Modern Era: 26 points (1992 SEC Championship, 80-54)

ARKANSAS (no road game this year)
Biggest Win: 37 points (1947, 76-39)
Modern Era: 31 points (2010, 101-70)

AUBURN (no road game this year)
Biggest Win: 66 points (1947, 84-18)
Modern Era: 42 points (1997 SEC Tournament, 92-50)

FLORIDA
Biggest Win: 56 points (1948 SEC Tournament, 87-31)
in Gainesville: 47 points (1952, 99-52)
Modern Era: 35 points (1999, 93-58)

GEORGIA
Biggest Win: 77 points (1956, 143-66)
in Athens: 39 points (1947, 84-45)
Modern Era: 30 points (2012, 79-49)

LSU
Biggest Win: 47 points (1995, 127-80)
in Baton Rouge: 32 points (1996, 129-97)
Modern Era: 47 points (1995, 127-80)

OLE MISS (no road game this year)
Biggest Win: 58 points (1952, 116-58)
Modern Era: 40 points (2006, 80-40)

MISSISSIPPI STATE
Biggest Win: 44 points (1952, 110-62)
in Starkville: 38 points (1975, 118-80)
Modern Era: 30 points (2013, 85-55)

SOUTH CAROLINA
Biggest Win: 45 points (1975, 126-81)
in Columbia: 38 points (2007, 87-49)
Modern Era: 38 points (2007, 87-49)

TENNESSEE
Biggest Win: 61 points (1993 SEC Tournament, 101-40)
in Knoxville: 40 points (1996, 90-50)
Modern Era: 61 points (1993 SEC Tournament, 101-40)

VANDERBILT (no road game this year)
Biggest Win: 62 points (2003, 106-44)
Modern Era: 62 points (2003, 106-44)

Could easily break some of these this year. Would love to see us increase 101-40, but probably won't happen at TBA.

saw UK didnt sign any top players (on that USA Today list) why ?

For 2015? We have one guy who was top 20 and fell a lot during the summer run. A lot of the guys we're after have been slow to announce. No worries, we'll still finish top 5 easily imo.
