49ers Have Entered The Race For Peyton

That's assuming he wants a post playing football career, does anyone know that's what he wants to do?

Peyton to Davis and Moss, with that running game a D would be pretty nasty.

I still think he ends up going into broadcasting, but I think he is capable of taking an Elway-type role with a team. I don't necessarily think you can read too much into his post-retirement plans if he doesn't sign with the Titans, but if Bud is offering him some kind of front office work and he does sign there it will certainly point towards his wanting to stay around the game in an administrative capacity.

Any guess on who that might be?

And good luck guys I hope you are able to land him.

They were pursuing Manningham, but I think he ends up with the Rams. They might take a shot at Wallace, but that's a pretty outside chance. They will probably address the need in the draft, if I had to take a guess.

So the Titans have roughly 3 mil more than the 49ers and the niners can't keep up with what the Titans can pay, so no way he goes there, but the Broncos have about 14 mil more than the Titans but he doesn't go there either? So is more cap space a factor or not, please try to be consistent instead of trying to spin the argument to fit the outcome you want.

Be careful. Don't disagree and try to have a little fun with folks. You'll quickly be informed you know nothing.

Things that we think we think we know.

- Niners, tits, and the ponies are the front-runners
- All three can produce a similar and attractive deal otherwise they would not be in the hunt. But, I do not think money is the deciding factor in this case.
- Niners are the best all-around football team of the three. They are an injury to Ted Ginn Jr. away from the super bowl per punt returns.
- PM and A.Smith have the same agent. May mean something, may mean nothing.
- The tits only put their hat in the ring after ownership stepped in, meaning the front office deemed the PM sweepstakes not worth the effort and $ after his release from Indy.
- PM has visited both the ponies and tits facilities. It has been reported that he has not visited the winners I mean Niners facilities.
- The ponies are not feeling all that great about landing PM as of a report out of Denver.

I still think the tits are in the driver's seat and have the best chance at landing him.

First of all what any Titans fan says or thinks does not really concern me.

I'm not so sure about you last statement. Most people just assume he wants to be in management, has he ever said that he wants a role in a franchise after he is done playing?

Like I said earlier, if he wants to win he picks SF first then maybe Denver. If he does not want to hurt the feelings of the people that live in the state in which he played college football for, 14 years ago then he picks the Titans.

I say only the tits are the front-runner so it makes it more enjoyable if he signs with SF next week. :)

We can get PM and start looking at going 6-0 in Super Bowls while the tits will just remain a yard away.

Haha, very nice. I will enjoy the meltdown when he goes somewhere else other than the Titans.

You all would be the favorite right away if he signs

I dont know, if you're drafting as low as they are without too many big/heavy needs, why not give away your first pick to go after Mike Wallace.

They can always make him another offer but I don't think they can make you give up any more picks.

Really outside of Davis/Gore what are the other weapons he has on offense? Don't mention Moss because he is physically done.

Moss isn't done. Crabtree has untapped potential. And like I posted earlier, we're looking for another WR, maybe two.

If Manningham stays healthy, he is a very good WR. A healthy Peyton could make him a Pro Bowler.

Definitely. And I can't believe all these people think Moss is done. The only reason he didn't play well for The Titans is because he didn't want to be there.

If his mind is with it, he'll still be good.

Alex Smith is visiting Miami today. Could mean something, could mean nothing.

Three things are in the Titans favor, 1) the ability to be apart of the organization after his playing career. 2) we're in the AFC. 3) He hasent visited SF(that we know of), I just can't see him going to a place he hasent visited. With that being said both SF and TN are great fits but the best shot at a SB is SF. I think we'll know something by Monday.

Plus the fact he doesn't want to play in the NFC nor block his brother's path to the playoff/Super Bowl. Not to mention they are getting close to the cap, having signed Mario, needing to either re-sign Alex Smith or a new QB (Hass?), and their draft picks I doubt there is much money left.
