Guess what, so is Archie Bunker, Vic Makey and Tommy Gavin. Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin, I could go on and on.

I think the cast of Breaking Bad are all well intentioned characters who have all been through Hell and back and become rough around the edges because of it.

Amazing show.

Those are sit-coms, so different ballgame, IMO. I agree characters with layers make for good writing, I'm just saying the ones in Breaking Bad aren't all that likable. Walter White allowed his partner's girlfriend to die with no intervention because he's selfish. That goes beyond "a-hole". I don't find the rest of what he does to be too redeeming...just interesting.
