5-star PG Kennedy Chandler commits to Tennessee

With Kennedy in the fold, I wouldn't be shocked if we got 2 more 5*'s in this class. One of 5*'s Paolo Banchero, Jabari Smith, or Caleb Houstan at power forward, as well as five-star center Charles Bediako. Then there are the point guard, B.J. Edwards , and the 7 footer, Handje Tamba at Knox Catholic right in our own backyard. Looks like Rick is trying hard to get the players for a run at a national championship before he retires. Of course all of this high profile recruiting started right after he got the big raise, but if he pulls it off, he has earned every penny of it.
It also helps that he developed three guys in his short time here to become drafted in the same draft and become the number 1 team in the country with a bunch of 3 stars. That’s free national recruiting on live television.

When you have a great point guard surrounded with good to great athletes your team can go places. Coach 'em up Barnes!

Seems like a whole lot of it started right after he hired Kim English.

From Galilee:

This was over in May. Staff checked every box the family was looking for. I have been around a lot of college coaches, by far CRB is the most genuine. The before and after pictures of Admiral and Grant left everyone speechless. A ton of credit must go to the support staff. They were a huge part of Vols landing him. KC is a an awesome young man that works extremely hard. His father Kylan never seemed excited about the blue bloods. Duke and KY had a lot of show but UT had the substance. I hate I cannot see him play this season. He is working hard on getting a top class in Knoxville.

I cannot contain my excitement. I really hope Chandler can pull off this special class he is looking to draw to Tennessee, and if anyone can do it I think it's someone as genuine and talented as Chandler.

Welcome aboard to something special.
I would personally extend Barnes contract until he dies or retires... no, not just because of this one recruit. man can coach and recruit, and he's a great representative for tennessee
Let's see what he does with all this talent first shall we

No need. We've seen him with a team with much less talent make a nice run. We've also seem him develop elite NBA players. No idea why you need to see more, cause I don't.
We've never had this level of talent at Tennessee. Is he going to squander it a la 2016 Butch Jones or is he going to make a deep run in the Tournament? And I'm not talking sweet 16...I mean a DEEP run. We have the talent, we definitely have the depth. I'm not saying I don't think he can do it I just want to SEE it before I start talking life time contracts.

Also what elite NBA players did he develop? KD is a once in a generation talent he was going to be elite no matter who coached him. LaMarcus Aldridge had a decent run but I wouldn't consider him elite by any means.

This is the best recruiting TN has had in its basketball history! BOOM!
Video's on Chandler are crazy...also saw a crystal ball just hit for Paolo Banchero. I'm excited about this, but even more excited that it seems that NCAA BBall has a very reasonable path to at least playing SEC schedule in a bubble. No big difference from playing taking classes remotely on campus vs at designated location. NBA having no issues...copy what works.

Coskramer, I believe I saw you reply to a particular stupid Memphis fan on twitter. Did you happen to see the one that named 6 Memphis players that would be the best player on UT’s current roster?

100% agree NBA deserves a lot of props for what they are pulling off. They have the model to emulate
