How many of those "Barnes can't recruit"/"Barnes is just drawing a paycheck until retirement" have issued their Mea culpa? I don't come over here enough to see them. I remember reading a lot of negativity early though from the usual suspects.

Some impatient fans wanted the elite recruiting to come before any success on the court had. It didn't work that way, and it normally doesn't when you aren't a blue blood program (unless you are buying players like Will Wade and Sean Miller). I also think it took Barnes showing some commitment to the program, which was up in the air, until after the UCLA offer had fallen through and he had signed a new contract.
