6th lowest scoring output by AP #1 team on the road in history

At one point Gainey had an uncontested 3 from the top of the key and shot if off the backboard. Then we missed six of eight free throws on the following possessions. Some nights the ball won’t fall.

On to the next one.
I had feeling when we started missing free throws, it was going to be an ugly one.

Virginia was #1 when Maryland-Baltimore County bounced them 74-54. The first ever #1 seed losing an opening round NCAAT game to the #16 seed. **** happens. It’s the first SEC road game and FL was #5.

Nuke this POS thread. Merge it with the in-game.
Yeah that ended their season and made them not look like a number 1 team. Not sure that’s a good example to say that we will be fine this season.

Florida did what it needed to do to take Vols out of their game. Gators are for real and are a top 5 team in the nation for a reason. TN will learn from this game and hopefully get better!

UF certainly gave us all the chance we needed. I think I counted 0-9 before Okpara got a point blank dunk and a couple of freebs. We were down like 17-5 and not made one of about 10 shots ... and every one of them was a clean look! I thought UF may have put one of those carnival rims up there. It was that bad. We could have easily been out in this 20-15 like w just avg shooting. Didn't

Let's hope that continues, Florida has a damn good team, and the SEC Road is Treacherous. Don't be surprised if the Vols drop that game. Florida jumped out big on UK @ Lexington, and they will have the loudest crowd Tenn has played ----louder than the crowd at ILL. Remember that ? . Add to the motivation that Tennessee IS #1, and Uf just lost a tough one at Uk. This game and @ Auburn will be big tests.
This game set up perfectly for Florida, off the Loss @ UK, where they were dominating to start, and Tennessee coming to them as the #1 Team. But 30 points? It does happen when a very good team has all the momentum, and are fueled by a wild crowd as was Fla last night. I knew this was a loss after Saturday.

The last time a #1 team scored less in a road game than we just did was 1957. This was a historic embarrassment. Honestly I’m dumbfounded as to what just happened, never would have expected. No idea what to think of this team going forward. Idk if that was an aberration or an exposure.
We are going to find out. My biggest concern is a lack of depth due to injuries. Going to be a tough sled as SEC play continues for the next two months. The shooting percentages from last night will not beat many teams in the SEC on a given night.

Actually, not much to analyze. Got a lot of open looks but didn't hit any of them. I'll bet Barnes will want them to take those shots every time. On the other hand, gotta be stronger in the paint. But Condon threw elbows every time he went to the basket.

Very physical game, and for once it seemed we were out-toughed. Gave up a lot of offensive rebounds, and couldn't hit an outside shot. 2 big concerns were the lackadaisical play from Lanier at times where he got blocked and picked from behind seemingly playing at a slower pace, and the fact that we kept going to the 3- point well instead of adjusting to get looks closer to the basket. We will need an inside presence if we are going to compete with top echelon in the SEC.

You absolutely have to love "fans" that can't wait to crow about the first loss of the season. I can't see your post because I have you blocked, but I am sure it is full of well thought out analysis that points out the weaknesses shown and the manner that the team can learn from and grow from its first loss. Never saw a poster with a more accurate handle in my 60 years of life.

The “bright side” is that such a humiliating loss will likely drop the Vols in the rankings more than a typical well-fought conference road game would. Now, Auburn can be the clear front-runner that all the media seem to have been pining for. Vols can play with a chip on their shoulder. Maybe redemption from such a crushing defeat will be the needed edge.

This!

Gators played a dirty game and refs totally hosed us by letting them get away with murder all night long.
