6th Trip To Omaha In School History

A tip of the cap to Coach Vitello, as this year showed us how difficult it is to get to the College World Series and the great play and roster adjustments he initiated to put his team in position to win some very big games on the road to earn the right to get to Omaha.

Not a fan of the NCAA putting two SEC teams in Super Regionals (LSU/KY)(FL/SC) and then having SEC teams square off in the opening games, but the college game is chocked full of 18 and 19 year olds that play hard, make mistakes, come back quickly and are a pleasure to watch play on college baseball's biggest stage.

Something seems different this year…
I was thinking the opposite but kinda the same. I remember the expecations going into Manning's senior year. That was supposed to be our best chance at winning it. Once Manning left, that would be the end of things. I didn't view the next years team as being capable of winning it all. Fgured we'd have a nice team but not good enough to win a natty. They shocked us all with the season they had. This year feels like '98 football to me. Having said that, it does indeed feel different.

Let’s not forget the second most important thing about this trip to Omaha:

Arkansas players will have to buy a ticket if they want in the stadium. Otherwise, they’ll be watching from their mom’s basement in Fayetteville.

Maybe they can invite the Vandy players over and have a little watch party.
