What is the deal? Coach Jones is trying to give us a good football team and encouraging all the fans to be involved, hence starting with the O&W.... geez seems nothing about our football program makes some of you happy... UT is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't... get on board and support this program for goodness sake or shut up complaining... give the new Coach a break - this is not an instantaneous process..:clapping:Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO VOLS..
GO BIG ORANGE .............

I'll give you an AMEN for that!

But they don't quit showing up ... all I'm trying to say. I have been to many a Bama game in Knoxville when we've clearly been the superior program. The Bama fans are there. They may hate the coach and want them fired, but they traveled with the team. They don't whine about who their coach is (or could have been) they show up for the spring game.

Volnation is much more fickle. We just are?

They definitely whined about who their coach was between Stallings and Saban. Their fanbase is no more loyal than ours. The Vols still travel pretty well.

Clearly you haven't lived in many big college football towns. I have. Fans get upset when their team loses. Attendance suffers. It happens everywhere.

Of course, I've never lived anywhere that was going through a historic low like TN currently is. I would expect the fans of any program would be quite apathetic if their team went through three straight losing seasons for the first time in 100+ years.

One thing that I do find unique about vol fans is their capacity to get behind mediocre hire after mediocre hire and to convince themselves that this time, everything will work out, despite no evidence of any progress, while the AD continues to bilk them.

Me and my 12 year old son will be there again for the second time. Probably catch a baseball game too!!

Given the reference to continual mediocre hires and a bilking AD, you would have to be speaking of Mike Hamilton, or would it be Doug Dickey who made his share of mediocre hires as well?

Glad to see our hardcore fans pushing for team support. :banghead2:

I'd be nice if people could actually support their team and have a positive outlook on the future. I just don't get being a fan if all your gonna do is complain and down your team, staff, and school. if your that unhappy as a fan go be a fan of a team you'd be positive about and be happy with the team, staff and school.
you said it man. root for the vols with a positive outlook.or, go on the vandy board, so we do not have to read this bull. i am unhappy also, with the last season, but will still back the vols. go talk to tony b on the radio.

I don't understand all the negativity- it's time to move forward.... some people just aren't happy!!!

I don't think we need a new coach coming in demanding 70 to 80 grand in the seats for a scrimmage and telling everybody he is going to hire the "best coaching staff in America" and then just hire a bunch of his buddies, including Willie "Senor Score" Martinez. After the Florida debacle Hart, Jones, et al should certainly know they have to EARN the trust of the fans, especially since I'm sure ticket prices will remain the same.
We have to hold Butch's butt to the fire IMMEDIATELY. We have been through enough garbage to last a lifetime.

And your plan for this incendiary tactic?

--Geeze Louise, "...demanding 70 to 80 grand in the seats for a scrimmage". Do you have the foggiest idea how marketing works?
