Alabama was starving for a winner, then hired NCAA championship coach Nick Saban.

Tennessee was starving for a winner, then hired.................. Big East Co championship coach Butch Jones...

Yeah, that will fill the stadium.

The hire is what it is, but please stop expecting the fans to just burst with excitement about it.
Three questions:

1) How many Nick Sabans are there?
2) How many Nick Sabans are available for hiring?
3) How many Nick Sabans would take the U.T. job if offered?

Wait, there was a guy in there first who went somewhere else. Michigan, I think. Then Bama pulled the Saban thing out of their azz. Don't act like they executed some master plan.

I agree. And most honest Bama fans will agree that they had no idea this was going to happen and they are as surprised as anyone. Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised.

You're right, should have hired Gene Chizik or Mack Brown since both those guys have BCS championships.

BTW, a few years ago LSU was starving for a winner so, they hired............... A guy who never even won a BigTen conference championship, coach Nick Saban.

Make it $10 a pop, hype the heck out of it, and pray for temps above 50 degrees.

Fans are cautious, burned-over, and cynical, but hope and curiosity spring eternal.

Uh, if you want 70, 80K there it had better be as close to free as possible. $5 max. $1 cokes and hot dogs, etc.

You do realize UT is 28-34 in it's last 5 years.

Yes, I do. I guessed that $10 would be way more attractive than regular ticket prices, but now that you mention it, the corner guys have been pretty much giving tickets away for the last year or so.

So sure, $5, not $10. That will definitely ease the $1,100-ish round-trip airfare for 2.

If you're dropping $1100 on airfare for a spring game then you're . Are you serious?

Keep in mind there are 80K fans buying airline tickets for this. A MAJOR majority will be from the local market.

No, we'll be hunkered down here, gazing out over the Bay and sending warm fuzzies to Neyland.

I was just giving one perspective on the whole ticket price thing.

Hell, I rejoice when I only pay $3.69 a gallon.

It's not too much cheaper where I live. My neighbor is a scout for the Giants. I can't wait to see his new WS ring. Pretty cool.

Believe it if you want. I'm a big customer service guy, which is why I don't shop at Wal-Mart, Kroger or Home Depot.

I can see wal-mart and kroger...but Home Depot?

Here our Home Depots have the best customer service.

Hope you're not a lowes guy. They're the worst.

Would be nice to have that kind of support from the fanbase. Then again I understand we have more of a life than bammers. Anyway I've only been once when Kiffin was there but I might be going this year.

The Bammers had Saban fever. We have a BJ with a flat top.

They are obnoxious in the worst way, but Bama fans follow the Tide NO MATTER WHAT! I hate to say it, but we could take some lessons from them.

I, for one, am going to try to make the spring game with my son. Will be my first spring game since I was a kid, and it will take us 6 hours to get there.

If you don't want to attend, don't? If you want to whine about a new coach who has really brought enthusiasm to this program that has been missing it for years, please whine.

If our fan base echoes your sentiments, nobody will be there. I hope that's not the case.

They have fairweather fans just like everyone else. They have also hated coaches that sucked and wanted them fired. i will be at the game as well.
