81% on Vols Moneyline

They’re 4 deep and 4+ stars at almost every position with the top D in the country, and a Heisman winner, if he plays. A good way to bring them together is telling them they’ll lose. This will be a tough game. They’ll try to stop our run by blitzing the meshpoint and bringing a safety up on the first two downs. They’ll eat some long passes, but our offense suffers when we start 2nd with ten to go. Beating them is possible, but they have enough depth to rotate. It’ll be hard to wear them down. Vegas is holding 7 against 80/20 because they don’t want to cover. Normally a line will shift quickly with sentiment, but they’re letting emotional betting load up first, and the algorithms will kick in when big money bets the other side. Tough game coming. Go Vols.
I get what your saying, but those 4 stars deep at every position looked largely inept against A&M while at home. Granted, if your starting QB is out that will effect the game more than any other position. I still don’t think enough people are talking about Hooker; everyone’s focus is on Bryce. I get that he’s the reigning heisman, but is it a forgone conclusion that we can’t compete if he starts? I sense that’s where a lot of people lean right now and I’m not sure that’s fair considering what Hendon has done this year.

This Bama team is very good - just hasn't gelled yet on Offense. But their D - especially the front - is very good and we will have a hard time running consistently. I do like our big receivers on their DBs and with the extreme wide splits we should get some 1 on 1 match ups which we can win if Hooker has time. My biggest fear is that the Bama O is able to run consistently against us. If they can move the sticks and run clock with their ground game, it really takes the pressure off their D and puts that pressure on our O. If they can run the ball effectively our O MUST make first downs on every possession, or we risk never getting our O in gear. Three and outs will be killers but especially if we give it over the Bama and watch them execute a 6-minute drives.

And the emotional betters are the one LV counts on as they don't always make the smart bets. Learned, the hard way, when it comes to betting $ bet with your head not your heart.

I think you nailed AL's game plan. They get up by double digits, then the pressure ratchets up more. The scary part for me is they have the D line to make us one dimensional and then its bad news from there.

There’s no value in taking Bama moneyline. Only way you take Bama is if you take the points.

This is going to be a tough, tough game for us to win. If we bring our A game, we have a chance. Bama just has so much more depth than we do, especially defensively.

Lot of betting with the heart.

We all hope the Vols win. That said, at what position group is UT better? QB? That is about it.

I think Bama is royally pissed off at the doubt, hype, and marginalization directed at their team. They are going to come out like the pre-George Foreman Smoking Joe Frazier. And dead set on putting us in our place, in our house, on nationally televised Game Day. We darn well better be ready for a death duel.
That might be good that Bama comes in like that. That might mean they get aggressive real early and that leaves them open for some early hay makers.🥊

According to Action Network, 81% are riding with the Vols Moneyline versus 19% on Alabama: https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/public-betting
66% on the Vols +7 spread versus 34% on Alabama

Many members of the media are picking us to beat Alabama tomorrow. Josh Pate, On3, Barrett Sallee, Dennis Dodd, etc.

Rat poison, overconfidence, or just people recognizing that Tennessee has the better football team in this matchup for the first time in a long time?

Everyone saw the game against A&M and knows if Bama plays like that again Vols win, likely by a lot. Of course Bama will bring their A game against us because you know that's just the way it is.

In Alabama's mind , this is the absolute PERFECT setup for them . They have the talent advantage, a long dominating streak against us, and the "goat" coach that looks at us as cockroaches. I'll bet their team is smiling ear to ear at all this hype for UT . I hope we play the game of our lives and curbstomp their smug as$3$$. You better believe we won't get the sloppy team that AtM almost beat.

I think it’s that this Bama team isn’t nearly as dominant as the Bama teams we’ve recently seen. They looked very vulnerable against A&M, if that team shows up Saturday Tennessee wins and I’m not sure it’s even close. That said I bet Bama looks good when they face us.
We won't get that same team sadly. Never do.
See: Florida game

And yet Vegas still has bammer as a seven point favorite at UT. I don't bet on athletics, and thus only have a passing interest, but it appears the big money folks are mostly coming in on bammer. Is that correct?

Once the line is set, is it not true that only the money coming in determines any spread? If true that would mean that Vegas (Casinos) is not really setting anything. But rather the opinions of bettors and their $$$?

Am I wrong?

To me, Bama is not the "Monkey on our back". They've simply been a better team for years. Florida was our Monkey. We disposed of them. Playing Bama is going to be who wants it more.
