CAREFUL .

I think we have an equal O if Young plays, slightly better if he doesn’t. Our D is........well.......interesting. We are trendy this year. TBH, I see us losing a close, high scoring game. AND if that happens, Heupel is just the kind of leader to build on it.
Our offenses are not equal. Bama receivers suck.

I think Bama is royally pissed off at the doubt, hype, and marginalization directed at their team. They are going to come out like the pre-George Foreman Smoking Joe Frazier. And dead set on putting us in our place, in our house, on nationally televised Game Day. We darn well better be ready for a death duel.
Blah blah blah. They said that last week with all the Jimbo and Saban hype and A&M as bad as they almost Got’em. Bama is not good this year and it’s time somebody puts an ass whipping on them.

I don't believe in Rat Poison, or other superstitious mumbo jumbo. Reality is either team could win and win big tomorrow, both have explosive offenses. If either defense makes too many mistake the other team could run away with it. I think turnovers and or penalties will be key, as well the health of Young's shoulder. I have absolutely no idea what to expect. If Bama won by 30, Tennessee won by 30 or we played to over time...all would be plausible. I'm just excited that all three are very very possible for the first time in 15+ years. But I feel really good about us whipping dey azzes maybe.

And yet Vegas still has bammer as a seven point favorite at UT. I don't bet on athletics, and thus only have a passing interest, but it appears the big money folks are mostly coming in on bammer. Is that correct?

No. 7 is what Vegas sets the spread to, in order to try and equalize the betting on both sides. Per the OP, people are taking Vols with the points at about a 2-1 ratio or 66% to 34%

This Bama team is very good - just hasn't gelled yet on Offense. But their D - especially the front - is very good and we will have a hard time running consistently. I do like our big receivers on their DBs and with the extreme wide splits we should get some 1 on 1 match ups which we can win if Hooker has time. My biggest fear is that the Bama O is able to run consistently against us. If they can move the sticks and run clock with their ground game, it really takes the pressure off their D and puts that pressure on our O. If they can run the ball effectively our O MUST make first downs on every possession, or we risk never getting our O in gear. Three and outs will be killers but especially if we give it over the Bama and watch them execute a 6-minute drives.

This is my feeling as well. To me, the smartest bet is to take the under because I see Saban looking to shorten the game and put together long, time consuming drives leaning on that OL and run game. Containing Gibbs and getting off the field on 3rd down will be the keys for us.

Bama’s offense is not explosive. Their run game is strong but their offense ends there. Take out the 3 stat packing cupcake games and look at the numbers outside Gibbs.

Bama was penalized 31x for 274 yards against AM/Texas/Ark

UT was penalized 19x for 170 vs Pitt/Fl/LSU

Hopefully the biased refs don’t bail the dumbos out like so many other times in recent memory.

According to Action Network, 81% are riding with the Vols Moneyline versus 19% on Alabama: https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/public-betting
66% on the Vols +7 spread versus 34% on Alabama

Many members of the media are picking us to beat Alabama tomorrow. Josh Pate, On3, Barrett Sallee, Dennis Dodd, etc.

Rat poison, overconfidence, or just people recognizing that Tennessee has the better football team in this matchup for the first time in a long time?
That‘s usually not a good sign.

Glad your name isn't Josh H!

I know it's nigh impossible for you to comprehend this. The post you refer to is about the Bama team's attitude. I assure you that Josh H. isn't tha team's coach. Your sole purpose fort responding to my posts is to engage in RickyVol77 style sniping. I'll end that soon. Then you can go back and register under a different forum name and avatar to continue doing what you do.
