Well you guys better learn to like Romney, because I feel like that is who they nominate

What dont you like about him? Too East Coast? Mormon? RomneyCare?

he's a democrat. spends tons of money, generally antibusiness. i don't care that he's mormon, but the rest of the country certainly will. he's way too left to win the nomination. no one with the stink of obama care is coming out of the republican side.

Biden noted today that in the past he “got in trouble” for making predictions about job creation, but clearly that did not stop him from delivering his bold new projections.

“We caught a lot of bad breaks on the way down,” Biden said. “We’re going to catch a few good breaks because of good planning on the way up.”

Good ole Joe

saw obama at some chevy plant or something today. he was seriously arguing the economy was going strong and also said that we'd be in deep crap if we didn't bail out the autos. amazing.

There is another side of this equation. European currency and debt problems contributed to the environment that initially weakened the dollar.

What? A weaker Euro measured against the dollar strengthens it not weakens it... Not too sure what you are trying to say here. The dollar has seen peaks during the worst days of the European debt crisis.

I believe the EU agreement limits their ability to just print money. Is that not correct?

It's easy and fun to pick apart the various economic policies of the current and past administrations, but I believe what we are now experiencing is the transfomation over the past decade(s) of America to a service economy. The days of HS grads making good money manufacturing 20th century products are gone and never to return. As mentioned earlier, domestic energy production would help in the short term for those semi-skilled now out of work. What the US really needs is an extremely focused and aggressive policy on future/renewable energy sources. We must become the global vanguard of this prospect. It is the production and exportation of these that will drive employment and our economy in the future. We must forget saving 'Detroit' et al and spend instead on technology research and development and training a workforce to benefit from such.

how do we become a global leader in alternative energy when the NIMBY leftists continue to put up roadblocks against solar and wind facilities?

it also doesn't help when solar panels and wind turbines have to be imported to the US

We were, but sh*t happens. It was a pipe dream and slogan to get elected. Every candidate says what people want to hear. You can't even act like it would be different had McCain been elected.

he could have taken that 2 trillion slush fund and given every business owner a 40K tax break for the firrst year of every new employee hired. Employee must be employed with the business for 3 years or the tax break is due back pro-rated. In the secod year the tax break would drop to 30. 3rd year it drops to 20. each business could qualify for up to three employee tax breaks. If he had of done this it would have cost roughly 2 trillion and immediately spurred job growth.

He never planned on fix anything.

Your missing the point. We need to be the developers of the next stage. As it stands, the US has probably the lowest tarriffs in the world. China and India have two of the highest and an enormous source of cheap labor. We simply cannot compete with the current products. The answer is to develop technology that other countries must have regardless of price. Same with cars in the 50's and computers in the 90's.
