9/11 Conspiracy Thread

I think people forget the buildings were slammed into by airplanes going pretty fast..

So for science try this one on for size. Stand straight up. Have someone slam a baseball bat into your head. See how long before you collapse.

Fun fact: 100% of the people who have survived this test have gone on to become trump supporters.

Well beforehand, add these steps to the experiment:

dig a 1' hole in the ground; stand in the hole, and set 4 (eight total) 6'6"-7'6"' #4 or 5 rebar around each leg and have someone wrap them around your body, up to your head, with wire; then have someone pour wet quikcrete in the hole/around your legs to ground level; let dry a full week and remain calm -- now have someone "slam" as you've described (or, maybe even saw partially through, to the head, or better yet for this comparison, within your chest area), and then let them see if your entire body and all rebar collapse straight down to the ground, or rather if most of the body remains standing (and only the top section (if sawed) collapses over).

more intellectual dishonesty. Steel construction doesn't function in any way similar to the human body or even masonry. heck even wood, which it is the most similar to.

I'm still having a hard time believing a a Boeing 757 only did this much damage...

For the controlled demolition people:

If it was a controlled demo, why did both towers begin to collapse at the point where they were impacted by the planes?

I dont claim to know anything about architecture...my question is strictly physics..

Say you had a ten ft high by 4 ft wide stack of bricks...2 or 3 feet from the top of the stack a row or 2 was structurally compromised...knocked out..

Would that 3 ft high section create enough energy to pancake the remaining 6.5 feet section?

A few courses of solid brick ARE NOT the the same as 68,000 tons impacting after falling a minimum of 2 storys (20 ft).

LOUDER IS CORRECT. Its not high school physics. It as if the Titanic were dropping on the floors below the fire damage, one or even several at a time as the accumulating mass decended. By a second 15 floors it was as if TWO Titanics, then THREE Titanics were dropping from above. The force of impact on the joist bearing clips and every other critical component, whether a weld, interior colmmn, or exterior curtain wall forced virtually instantaneous catastrophic failure of smaller components and buckling then failure of interior columns and the exterior structural curtain wall. Air compressed between floors shot out carrying gypsum dust from the interior wallboards and every imaginable lightweight thing. Many, many structural components were thrown large distances from "the footprint".

No, the conspiracy theorists have it ALL wrong when they continue spout the actual failure mechanisms as officially reported are not true. Whether they are college professors or laymen like Ras, they're wrong.

This is stupid.

I have explained this time and time again, but let me try yet one more time.

As each floor collapsed onto the floor below it, it would lose kinetic energy on each collision and the kinetic energy lost would instead go towards the necessary force to buckle/fail the joints or supports of the floor below it. Eventually, as the momentum started to reach lower floors (floors that are stronger because they are further away from the heat source), you would need more energy in order to cause a failure. What you should have had is (maybe) the most affected and damaged floors near the impact zone of 2 of the buildings caving in and eventually stopping about midway down. But it should have never resulted in a complete and total collapse of the building.

Still not sure how you are going to explain the complete and total collapse of Building 7, however.

f=ma

m: The mass in this case is all of the floors above the floor that failed and then including each additional floor that failed.

a: The acceleration is of the mass mentioned above. Gravitational acceleration = 9.8 meters/second^2

What's the force big guy?

What's the shear force failure rating for the clips holding each floor?

Ras doesn't know enough engineering to understand he doesn't understand. So he spouts this inapplicable BS he read that was written by some guy who couldn't engineer a posthole. These guys falling for this shiest show just how dumb people can be. Sheep to slaughter claiming to be open minded.

The founding fathers did well making this the Republic of the United States with a President, a House and Senate, a Judiciary, and an Electoral College. I'm about to believe some folk should have their vote taken away by a Constitutional Convention of States. Reason? Abject dipshiestedness.

I appreciate you. I am well aware I don't have the schooling or background to break things down the way you do. You too louder by the way. I hope Ras and such open their eyes. My fear, for Ras in particular, is that he has gone too far down the rabbit hole.

All three buildings collapsed in the exact same manner. Two buildings were damaged asymmetrically by a plane collision on the top floors. One building was (allegedly) catastrophically damaged at the base to such an extent that it weakened its base. The two twin towers, although similar, were slightly different. Yet, in all three cases, we have 3 buildings fail in exactly the same manner in the direction of the most resistance at near free-fall speed. The possibilities of 3 unique buildings collapsing in that manner and resulting in a complete and total collapse are astronomical.

What if..... the buildings were designed to fall in that manner when structurally compromised?.... you know..... in order to minimize collateral damage.....wtf Ras.... you and Rosie O'Donnell need to knock this **** off

They catagorically DID NOT.
BLG 7 Collapsed, not from and structural damage compounded by heat but from the heat and failure of automatic sprinkler systems. (albeit from fires started by being penetrated by flaming debris and mains cut by the same.

I don't buy any of the conspiracy garbage at all.

Most folk have enough savvy not to. This I think is a situation where the opinion of the vast majority of the hard science professionals, in every dicipline, carries the day.

The AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction), The AWS (American Welding Society), The NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), etc.and so on...ALL agree.

For the conspiracy guys those listed groups would be ones to make money if there was a cover up, it would result in more safety precautions and work for them.
