9mm Ammo

I've already seen instances of people using 22's as money on some forums. Things like "Will trade 8 bricks of .22 for Glock 19." If one purchased those 22's at normal prices you've made out pretty well.

More than a year later and I still can't find 22lr.

I've had decent luck at the Turkey Creek Walmart. Re-stocking is random, though it seems to occur either in the mornings or late afternoon/evenings. Academy may have some as well, but I believe it is kept at the front desk. I think their shipments are Thursday. Gander Mtn gets their shipments in on Tuesday mornings, but the hoarders and resellers grab most of it. The shop on Alcoa close to the medical center gets some in regularly as well at very decent prices.

So in general, it's out there, but you have to be diligent and patient and work a bit for it. Hopefully supply continues to pick up so the resellers' profit margins shrink as people refuse to buy at their inflated prices. As it become readily available, the hoarders will back off too, since they are driven by the fear of short supply.

As far as 9mm, it's just now getting to the point where it's not difficult to find locally.

I also though the manufacturers cut back on the .22 production, to run other more profitable ammo
and haven't really gotten back into it

This. And the scalpers are just waiting for it to hit the shelves at your local stores and in turn show a tidy profit for it at the gun shows where they double the price.

You are lucky if those vultures remove the Walmart price tags before selling it to you.

If it were up to me I'd ban the guys that are at Walmart every day at 7am when they put them out. Because it's honestly the same guys there every day. That or limit them to 1 box a week to even the playing field for other buyers.

223 came roaring back. They're throwing it back on the shelves with the shotgun shells at many of the big box retailers in Nashville. 9 mm will catch up eventually although I don't use that round myself.

Demand. Only reason for the price increase of what it is.

my brother in law deals in a lot of guns,he told me was the government putting taxes on them,i may be wrong on that, but it wasn't that long ago that a dollar or 2 would get bunch of them

Government putting taxes on what? Has there been an increase of taxes on ammo?

Those, 7.62 and the 5.56 I know for sure Walmart has. They've had them for a long time now.

It'd be nice. At least a couple months ago, the manager at Turkey Creek was doing a fair job limiting boxes so more people had a chance.

The bums just bribe the guys at the Clinton Hwy store closest to me. Same 6 guys almost every morning. Its pathetic.

Then you see them on those Facebook trading groups asking 60/box of 325 rounds.

The sign is still up at TC, I believe it says 1 box per customer per day of 22lr.

Wal-mart usually keeps 45 acp\auto in the 250 round box for $111.00 Remington UMC

I typically buy it a case at a time, so hoping it goes into the range of $350 or so for brass cased stuff. The Aguila and Prvi Partisan were around those prices before the shortage last year.

My local pawn shop had some .22lr in a (50ct) ziploc bag for a little over $12.00 about a week ago.
