Every single registered voter had the right to turn out to vote not just anti-gay marriage voters. You don't like how the vote turned out, maybe you should have took your liberal ass over there and worked to change the outcome.

Man, they were so busy hating freedom that they forgot to get the lawyers to look over the amendment. I was probably too lazy to educate the politicians though... my bad.

Oh, ye Protestants, whose wellspring of religious freedom is primarily attributed to two extremely flawed individuals (one, a greedy French opportunist who took advantage of the reformation strife to expand his own power; the other, an ******* English king who ended up beheading a few of his numerous wives for not providing him with a male-heir), make me laugh when you contend that the government needs to step in and ensure that that the morally corrupt are dealt with and banished from your realms.

Be he against it or not, marriage has always been a state's rights issue.

You haven't even asked if I'm against it or not.

Maybe I choose to just not make it my business, regardless of whether I believe it's right or wrong.

For a party that touts limiting government, the GOP sure finds ways to insert itself where it is not needed.

Actually not true; Amendment 1 reaffirmed existing and further removed rights (civil unions, domestic partnerships). I think we are focusing too much on the actual voter participation and not enough on why this amendment was on the ballot. NC has effectively assigned homosexuals as 2nd class citizens - brilliant!

Because I believe that individual freedom should trump state tyranny, which is what this is. Perhaps you can put on a wig and grow a beard and run for office as Jesus. There are a lot of idiots in North Carolina that will vote for you, then you can be on your way to your theocracy.
