A common theme from our current recruits

BTW- there are legitimate reasons for leaving the game early. When my son was younger than six he couldn't make it through the entire game. My EX-wife could never make it either haha. Traffic is a b!tch too. But leaving because we are losing.... Not good.

the secret is to hangout on the strip then drive home. traffic is a breeze after about midnight or so.

Once I was out of UT I usually parked at Church Street United Methodist. I always stayed till the end and never really had issues leaving. Now when I was at UT in the late 90's the games were a little more packed...

I love when the people around me leave early. I sit in the padded seats with a back.

Your ex wife's name is Traffic? Interesting.

Personally, I don't care if a 17 year old kid likes it or not. I don't need his approval and he ain't getting my approval until he earns his scholly on the field, unlike these knuckleheads we got now. But, our team is getting better each week, and I am really tired of hearing about these crybaby recruits we got who are just looking for ways to de-commit. If you don't wanna be here, be a man and own up to it, don't blame it on message boards or fans leaving early. you're a joke if you do. And if 50,000 people leave the game early, oh flippin well, it cuz we are getting killed in our own stadium, that's not the fans fault...

Your screen name automatically makes anything you say on here irrelevant. :furious3: Jon Gruden.

I never leave a game early but I must say that leaving early is a real Tennessee Tradition. UT fans do it better than any other school.

Negative. I went to the FL game in Gainesville this year and FL fans were leaving in the 2nd QTR WHILE it was still a game. I stayed for the entire game, but during timeouts I'll walk to the concession stands and the amount of people leaving and not coming back was a shock to me.

I've always stayed till the end, even while Florida fans were throwing stuff from the top deck and I'll be there till the end tomorrow.

I have seen at least three of our current commitments quoted as saying they "hate" seeing our fans leave games early.

They also say they completely understand that this Rise to the Top is a process.

My advice to all fans is to listen very carefully to what they are telling us!

I "hate" seeing lack luster performances game-in and game-out which has gone for how many years now....

I "hate" seeing players make the same mistakes each and every game.

I "hate" seeing a a lack of creativity with play calling.

Everybody keeps talking about hanging on to current recruits. Every time I see a quote from a current recruit, they all say the same thing. They understand it's a process and they are solid to UT. They want to play for CBJ. This analyzing every little thing is becoming silly. And for all the negavols, please grow up and show some maturity. Most of our recruits are more mature than most of the posters on this site.

I have to admit that I have left a game early, but my fiancee was freezing. Gotta keep the ladies happy. Please have mercy on me.

If you're going to pay to watch, might as well stay for the whole thing and support your team

Who cares if somebody leaves early, it's their tix. More space for other fans. I do it all the time, if we are winning or losing...depends on the kids if attention is gone. If somebody else pays for my season tickets and tells me to stay then that makes a difference, otherwise not much to complain about.

Sitting in Neyland last year to the very end of the Alabama game was down right embarrassing, but I stuck it out. Vol fans were outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1 in our own stadium.

someday on a sunny saturday afternoon in october roles will be reversed.it will be the alabummer fans out numbered 5-1.book it.....

Never seen anyone before that flat out doesn't like the recruits... Jeez man we do actually want them here ya know?

I almost never leave early...rarely a few early minutes if the person I am with wants to go, but of the dozens of games I have been to, that's happened maybe three times

Please see my previous reply to the other "fan". Take a hiatus for a year or two while Butch gets this thing back on track. Then you can come back when we are winning. That is the kind of "fan" you are, right?:peace2:

I'm the kind of fan that is tired of losing. The kind of fan who buys UT stuff every weekend only to have that team disappoint me week after week. I watched this same team lay down last year against CANDY. Almost lost to S.Alabama and get blown out against Oregon, but I keep buying UT stuff and supporting my team. Sports apparel is not cheap and neither are tickets and gas. I have sat in the stands for the past 5 years and watched our mediocre teams get destroyed. I'm guessing you are a recent fan who has never experienced winning at Neyland, right. I experienced it in the 80's, 90's, and the 00's. I don't care who you are, when we BARELY beat S.Alabama you gonna get booed in this stadium. Every time. If the recruits don't like it, oh well.. Find another team to cry too. Either you're a VFL or you aren't. I don'y hear hurd, kelly jr, bates, etc crying about the booing. The booing will continue until we get back to our winning ways or until we are atleast COMPETITIVE with the top SEC teams. We have not been competitive with Bama, Uga, Usc, Fla, Lsu, in a while.
