A foregone conclusion that we stink this year, What about next year?

We lose our entire starting O-Line and D-Line. Lose Rajion Neal, gain Jalen Hurd.

Hurd will be coming off a fairly serious shoulder injury with durability concerns. Based on admittedly limited video.... I am not convinced he's a RB in college.

The O may be a little better if they can find a left tackle... which is a HUGE if because I don't think there's one on the roster who is likely to return next year.

The OL will get thinner but Wiesmann, Crowder, Jackson, et al make a pretty good foundation to have a decent OL.

D is where the real pain will be. Folks only THINK UT is thin this year. Secondary depth MAY be marginally better with the addition of some talented '14 signees. At LB, all three starters plus some back ups will be gone. Maggitt may return to form or not. On the DL, a few decent guys return but there will be zero depth. Major contributors like Hood, Couch, McCullers, Smith, Walls, and Miller will be gone. I am not sure there are enough bodies much less talent on the roster right now to replace them.

IMHO, the O will either tread water or take a small step forward. The D will take a fairly significant step back... and that's not saying they're great now.

Bama broke out of their downturn , LSU has never been down in recent memory. The Gators were down about 10 years ago-and it didn't take them this long to get it right.

Alabama is the best example but it is a lot harder to turn it around now than it was then.

We NEED to make a bowl game this year. The extra practice time for CBJ with the underclassmen would mean a lot. I was feeling good about next season, but the more I think about it, the more worried I get that we will most likely not be any better than the last 5 years. Maybe I just need to stop thinking about it.

I don't know what you mean by "recent memory". After LSU fired 'Cholie Mac', Charles Mcclendon, in 1979, the tigers went through seven head coaches (one died of an accidental death, the other six fired) until Nick Saban showed up in 2000. In case you're counting, that's twenty one years of wandering in the wilderness. McClendon had a record eerily similar to Phil's. That was one thing that scared me when the fraud fired him.

Not to pile on poor JACK8254 but remember when LSU had Jerry DiNardo? OMG... LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
