Nick Saban says that Derek Dooley will be very successful and is a great recruiter in the run up to the game where we use a ton of freshmen and zero depth to stay in a close one against a top 10 team on the road.

UGA moves to 1-4.

Florida which has the second most talent in the SEC gets absolutely humiliated by Alabama.

I think TN has to stay focused geographically. Florida and Georgia losing was good for us, and kids at the LSU game had to realize that we were playing our hearts out with inferior talent, whereas LSU is where stud players go to suck.

The game that was bad for us was the Oregon game. We had several recruits we want at that game, and it would be nice to think you could improve the defense that gave up 31, but know that your offense is absurd and can put up a TON of points against anyone (except Bama which they probably wont see until after they have decided on where they are going to school).

Dooley is going to give OVs at the end of the season. I hope we get to 6 wins, and have a nice weedeater bowl to go to. I think we will have a very strong finish to our class that will shore up some key depth problems and kids will come in knowing they are going to be a part of something special.

Anyone have any thoughts on the impact of today on recruiting?

If you were a recruit, would you be impressed and want to play for UT after today?

Since I'm a UT fan, I'd have to say I'd commit on the spot if Tennessee offered.

But if I were unbiased, no I would not be impressed.

I'd agree with it. I say we finish top ten and a lot of of our 3 star commits move up a star or two after the season is over. I hope mickey johnson liked what he saw today and sees that he will get GREAT playing time and opportunity if he comes to knox.

Why would you not be? We should have won the game aganist a top 10 team on the road, and in one of the hardest stadiums to play in.

I would commit early playing time! practically beating a top ten team in death valley with freshmen and short 15 players.. What kind of idiot on here would not be impressed with that..

Mickey Johnson will not make the grades. He'll be about as useless as John Brown was.

We also had a middle linebacker who is 5'9 miss the tackle that would have won the game.

Can anyone think of a position other than RT where there is anyone whose spot you could not take? Janzen and Juwuan and Justin Hunter and other than that if I was a good HS player I would not see a single kid I could not make my way to start over.

Discount the fact that LSU is mediocre this year, I'm still not impressed by a loss. Did we show some promise? Yeah. However, they looked God awful at times.

This is one of the most hard to follow posts I've seen. Are you wondering if HS kids liked what they saw? Probably.
