A great day for recruiting for TN?

I was recruited out of HS by Tulane, UCF, Memphis, Georgia Southern, Syracuse, Troy, and played 3 years for Savannah State, I doubt you know MORE than me. Maybe troll was the wrong word, but all the "Fire them now" or "No one wants to play for losers" talk is more than annoying.

thats cool, i was recruited by penn state, pitt, maryland, temple, shippensbug, villanova, virgina tech wanted me to be a walk on. but due to family reasons and some of my own stupidity, i never went. but im not a basher. like i said, was just ticked at how we let that happen. we will be fine. im going to come to my first vols game when we play kentucky, hope we crush them

It is strange when a thread title ends in a ? that people come on to ask who I am excited about committing. If they were all joking it would be mildly amusing, but I think most were serious.

Saturday even though we lost was a good day for TN in recruiting because it signaled the descent of UF and the destruction of UGA. It also showed that TN is very capable of rising quickly from the ashes that were left from the dumpster fire of Lane Kiffin's exit.

I don't disagree, but you are hedging your bets by using the word "capable". I think that people on both sides of the argument make some good points. We did play tough with half the team having never played a road game in the SEC. The other side of the coin is that we executed horribly and the playcalling was suspect in the last few moments of the game. Ultimately, I suspect that this game did help in recruiting, but the Florida game and UGA's implosion probably helped more.

I apologize. I didn't mean anything by it. Sometimes, since everyone is relatively anonymous on a message board, it is easy to make things up. I am usually a bit skeptical when such credentials are tossed around.

I agree that the losses helped more.

Hard for Dooley to recruit without a famous dad etc. He has a losing WAC record for now.

We are one Wilcox (and ref) screw up away from him having something tangible to point kids to.

I think we need to wait until 2012 to really see things turn around. Until then I think that Alabama will be a certain loss, and we will have a few more teams (including falling Florida) who will just out talent us.

The 28 limit hurts us badly, and Dooley is taking over a program that is basically busted up by transfers and criminals getting kicked off as badly as a team that the NCAA MAJORLY penalized.

Richt will fire Bobo but I think we will still have 1 more season with him.

Should we beat Georgia next Saturday, I think the Richt era may well be done. If he beats us, he may have somewhat of a chance for survival, but remember that they still have to play Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky after us. At the moment, no one they play is a sure win, and at least two of their upcoming opponents appear to be sure losses.
