A healthy dose of perspective

A pair of UK games comes to mind....Dooley somehow losing to a UK team starting their 3rd string QB in 2011 to break a 28 game losing streak

then the JG crows coming home to roost in the back to back pick sixes in Neyland in 2020. We had, relatively speaking, been on a roll to that point. I think Pruitt had won 8 in a row. That ended it, and the rest of the season was a disaster.

Lowest of low? Had to be 3-7 under Pruitt because it was coupled with the possibility of sanctions. 4-8 in Jones last year might be a tie though. Both were awful seasons.

Losing to Georgia State. Another one that sticks out was when the team gave up on Dooley and Vandy completely handled our asses in the last game before he was fired. Tennessee should never have to worry about Vandy…geez.

Losing to GA. State. I was a Vol fan while attending Ga. State. In those days they did not even field a football team. Also where my dislike for University of Georgia compounded. They always had an arrogance that needed to be taken down a peg. Looking for my Vols to do just that Saturday.

When Schiano was our coach for a whole 5 minutes.
This. It showed that there was an element in the administration that cared more about exerting influence than a winning program or the fans. Thankfully it was also the spark that would lead to a house cleaning.

For me probably the trash can on sideline.. or worrying about Vandy
Forget worrying about Vandy. That year we went 0-8 in the SEC there was nothing to worry about at all. You knew Vandy was going to kill us and that’s embarrassing. Plus, losing to Vandy 5 of 7 years is as low as it gets in the SEC.

The low point for me was watching 3 defensive lineman line up at defensive end on one side of the line against Georgia St to open the year after 9 months to prepare for the season. Pruitt should never be a HC again, ever.

Kiffin bent us over and used us then kicked us in the gonads for good measure. There was nothing that devalued Tennessee football like him throwing us to the side. No one respected our program after that.

and we turned into a divided nation of rioting dumpster fire starting crazies…full of anger.

as we saw in world society in 2020 and 2021, there’s nothing more destructive to a culture than getting flushed down that toilet hole.

…BUT look what happens when the right leader is put into place. EVERYTHING gets better, and here we are.
GBO!!!!

Wasn’t there a time where we had 3-4 of our players rob a gas station under Kiffin? I remember that being a low point for me.
