Ol' Tobias had a nice mid-range game, and he abused the backboard too. Complete offensive game. What could've been...

Going back to Richardson, I'll never understand how he can probably hit that shot at a 50% clip, yet he's not much more efficient than that while standing in basically the same spot with no one defending him (otherwise known as a free-throw).

rhythm of the game. He doesn't shoot set shots during a game, and you also have a few seconds to think about release, crowd, knees or whatever. During the game, it's instinct and reaction. Ft's are mainly mental.

Looking like he's probably not going to play this season. Will get a redshirt most likely.

Personally, I wish he hadn't already signed. Would love to drop him and add Oowotoah or Jorgenson or both.
Don't think Jorgenson would come here.
Stated recently, he likes to play up tempo. Favoring Creighton's style.

No. Where would the scholarship come from? He's one of 3 leaving, and we've already got 3 freshman signed...he's gone.

Oh right. Geez, I have not been paying attention. Is he still recovering? Or is it not known right now? I would have thought Martin would have thrown him in at some point recently if he were healthy.

It's a weird deal, he supposedly hasn't even participated in practice at all, kinda odd. I don't know if Martin just let him basically keep the scholarship since they had one while he finishes his degree or what. It's definitely a weird situation though, no information has come out on him at all.

I know it's a long shot but he's what we need. Handles the ball well, shoots the 3, and makes the right plays.

Yes, FTs are completely mental and repetitive. Lots of players shoot 70% in practice and 50% in games because they aren't mentally tough enough to block out the pressure. Some can handle the pressure, but simply don't practice them enough to establish a rhythm at the line that leads to a consistent, accurate motion.

Shooting FTs from an established position and creating shots from different spots on the floor in motion are totally different things.

Defense seems to be keeping him off the floor.

I would have agreed with this until today. This came up on another board and one guy suggested it may be offense, rather than defense, keeping Edwards off the floor. When I thought about it, he may be right. Defense isn't keeping Reese off the floor. He's by far the weakest defender in the rotation at this point. But he can score. I think if Edwards had come in and been a knock down shooter, he'd be playing, no matter the defensive deficiencies.

Josh and Jordy both have shown a midrange game and look good pulling up around the ft line.

My favorite of all time was Doom Haynes. Dude used the glass from about everywhere within 15 feet.

Doom kept the bank shot open all the time. That Memphis team of Bobby Parks,Andre Turner, Keith Lee, Phillip "Doom" Haynes & Wm Bedford could flat out play.

don't forget Baskerville and Dwayne Bailey off the bench. And tricky Ricky McCoy. I think he was along for that ride.

Maybe...except for the fact Edwards has a better 3pt% than Reese and also has a better 3pt% than everyone else on the team (technically not Moore).

Possibly, but it's not like he was a garbage shooter in juco. He has great form, doubt 10 more 3s would change his % much.

Adonis Thomas for Memphis has terrific form, shot 40% last year from 3, so we highly doubted he would shoot 20% this year, but he is. That's why its best not to name someone the best shooter until they consistently make shots.
