I have seen all of these guys say that the Vols lead. Dooley is out there doing work but for some reason some fans keep hating. This is a pretty impressive list considering we are a year from signing day. Honestly, I can't remember us leading for this many guys at this time last year.

LB Christian Harris
OL Alan Posey
OL Kyler Kerbyson
DT Allen Carson
S Brian Randolph
CB Chris Jones
TE Eric MacLain
TE Jeff Heurerman
TE Rory Anderson

That is not even counting the guys where we are in the top 2 or 3 with like:

QB Justin Worley- maybe lead.
DE Jeoffrey Pagan- probably lead.
OL Antonio Richardson
CB Derek King

and I could keep going. He is doing a very good job this early.

heck, the dude is still working on the 2010 class with Ballentine.

I'd like to know where Dooley stands on some of the instate guys. Are we close to offering someone like Crowder?

I find this to be comforting. I just feel very uneasy with him, just as I did early on with Kiffin.

This list makes me say that my early concerns were certainly unwarranted. I'm eating crow on my concerns, now that he's getting settled in and moving forward strongly.

Even if UT did offer Crowder, he isn't coming here. Went to school with him. Both of his brothers play Ivy League, and he wants to go someplace where he can get a good education.

He seems to be going more after in-state guys than Kiffin did. Kiffin only pursued 3 TN guys all last year. Dooley has already offered 5 TN guys in 1 month: Richardson, Ballentine (if you count him), Washington, King, and Kerbyson.

I don't think we will see anymore in-state offers until camp if at all. Guys like Redden, Becton-Martin, Crowder, Thomas, Long, Robinson, Gibson, Young, Coleman, Bryson, etc will probably have to show out in camp or have a huge senior season.

Out of those guys listed above, I can't really see any of them besides Redden getting an offer when it comes down to it. Gibson may be a stud, but he has injury problems and we can find a RB somewhere. But if he could stay healthy, he may very well be the #1 player in TN. He already holds an LSU offer.

The thing hurting Long, Robinson, and Crowder is that we have already offered 2 in-state OL who we feel are better. If you can get those 2, then you can cherry pick 3 or 4 more out of state who are better than the 3 I listed. We are all over some big time OL and seem to be sitting pretty with a few especially if you think MacLain winds up on the OL.

You are so right. Dooley is doing his job and people just hate on him saying he is not out there recruiting. Just because he does not get in front of a mic every day like kiffin did does not mean he is not doing his job.

I like Crowder a lot, and it's not like there are many elite centers out there to offer over him. I guess it comes down to how much they want to sign a pure center. I like Bryson a lot too.

He said over and over he was going to define anything with a soundbyte or hype. I personally think he's a workaholic that will not let this opportunity go to he..
From what I hear, he has the same temperment as Saban. Kind of an a..hole, but truth teller. I kind of miss the hoopla of Kiffin and the video coverage of practice etc., but this is more of the kind of dude we need. No nonsense. I'd also like to hear more about Coach Smith and what he thinks about being back in Knoxville as a coach and how all that's going.

I think everyone will feel more comfortable with CDD after TN comes out and plays a solid game against Oregon in September.

Still gotta "Coach em up" regardless of how many stars they have. Those players with the biggest heart (like Reivez) are the ones you want wearing Orange. Good job Fuad!~

This is good to hear. However, I think it is so idiotic that a list like this has to be put together as if any of these so-called "dooley haters" know anything to start with. Listen, we don't know anything and there's no use in comparing Dooley to Kiffin. Or Fulmer for that matter. It's kinda like comparing Casey Clauson to Jonathon Crompton. It's pointless. They are both dealt totally different circumstances.
I'll say this, we are in great shape because we have a great coach, a great leader, a guy who cares about UT football and he will put a serious team on the field.
For those of you who simply have to debate Kiffin vs. Dooley, I suggest this: 7-6 is a terrible season no matter how you slice it. We had a team that should have won more than 7 games last year and this year was/is going to be even more of a challenge regardless who the coaching staff is. I stand firm stating that I am happy with the direction for the football team. I liked Coach Dooley from the time he stepped in front of the mic on his intro press conference. I honestly think we will be pleasantly surprised when we are 5-2 going into the final games of the season.
If not, I still know we will win. We will win in UT fashion.

There's no doubt in my mind these coaches won't coach these players up. If you look at every coach we have now compared to the staff Kiffin put together and look at the backgrounds of these guys, do some research on them, hear what some of the players are saying about their position coaches I honestly think we've upgraded in almost every single position in "coaching." I'm not talking about recruiting. However, after stating that I have to say that this staff is actually recruiting well. If you do your research you'll see how many players (4-5*) are considering us and have us in their top 5. I counted 37 ESPN150 that have us in their top 5 the other night. Like I've said before it was kind of a slow start considering what Dooley had to deal with, but it has really picked up now guys and we're looking pretty good.

Thanks Vader. I haven't seen a list put together like that. We may not have to close up football operations after all.

Only a few of those guys will be highly rated (4/5 star), we are rebuilding and if we rebuild with 2/3 stars with only a few 4 stars and occasionally a 5 star we will be farther and farther behind. Let me know when there are more than 5 highly rated players saying we are in their top 5.
