A little curious action by Florida

Urban Meyer is going to take away his sweat pants with pockets, to punish him.

So O&B, does "suspended indefinitely" then mean "suspended until we really need you"? It would seem so.

The circumstances of this suspension are just way, way too convenient.

Are you familiar with the term "appeal"? :hmm:

Sure. Like it "appealed" to UF that since it was a big game, they will let this guy play.

There may be nothing to this story but the timing is really interesting...

if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....

No response to my post, huh O&B?

I guess you are still trying to hunt down that 24 hour testing lab in Gainesville...

none of this will matter until it proves to be a trend under Meyer and they start losing...it's amazing how little people will care about this as long as they are winning. they get in to a season where some folks are getting in to trouble and start losing...all the sudden, he'll have a track record of being too lenient....

What is that old saying, O&B? People who only beat Vandy due to poor officiating shouldn't remind others of losing to Vandy?

What are you even talking about? He was suspended on a Wednesday after the Tennessee game...check the date on the story, bubba.

Florida Gators, NCAA Football - CBS SportsLine.com

Thomas spent part of Wednesday in meetings with school officials to appeal the suspension he received earlier this week for marijuana use, his mother said. Sheila Mote said her son tested positive twice for marijuana between the middle of July and the end of August. She believes both results are from the same drug use.

Here's the suspicious part of the situation. Wednesday was when it begame official but he was suspended earlier in the week (Monday or Tuesday) and he was appealing that on Wednesday.

Further, he failed the drug test in August! They just got around to suspending him 2-3 days after the UT game. UF knew about this prior to the UT game but punted him after. Now they reinstate him.

Nice post.

He tests positive for marijuana, they test him again and he fails again.

Then with the evidence that he has failed 2 drug tests, Meyer waits a month later until the week after the Tennessee game to suspend him for the 2nd failed test.

Then before the LSU game, He is allowed to appeal his suspension and Meyer conveniently reinstates him.

What possible reason does he have to appeal? He failed back to back drug tests? Didn't Pearl kick off Major for marijuana?

Not only does Meyer not kick him off, he won't even suspend him unless its a game where he won't need him.

WRONG again...He did fail a drug test in August and as a result was suspended for the first game of the year against Southern Miss. He was then found positive on another drug test and was consequently suspended for 5 games after the Tennessee game. He ended up missing both the Kentucky and Alabama games. He appealed to the University board appointed by the president and won his appeal and was reinstated for this weekend's game against LSU. I know it's hard for you, but please try to keep up. Meyer runs a clean program, it's just that you guys are so eager to find something wrong with him and how he runs the program because we have been so successful (particularly against you guys). Move along, nothing to see here. :shhh:

Now go help us out and beat Georgia please. Thanks.

First of all I am the one who started this topic, the purpose I raised if you read the forum was to pose the question about said issue. I never pointed any fingers at anyone, I thought it curious that the reinstatement was so coincidental to the LSU game. The information I got this from was espn so why are you defending this viemently. It's not lke you are being questioned. This thread was never point the finger thread to begin with, but the truth will come out and nothing maybe wrong with anything. But if something is why be mad UT fans just posing a question when gator fans should be posing the questions themselves instead.

Wrong again, O&B. The first test he failed was in the middle of July, the second test was at the end of August. So, at the very least, it took UF 3 weeks to get the results of the second test back??? I do not think so. Again, this information was either withheld prior to the UT game or Urban Meyer is a classless idiot.

My source on this is the Orlando Sentinel.
