A&m Auburn

To be fair, it’s his first year in the SEC. Let’s not forget Heupel went 7-6 in his.
Plus, this football landscape has changed drastically from last season to this one wrt how conference championship games factor in, or don’t. It’s almost like there are certain losses you’re willing to take that actually put you in a better position to make the playoffs. This is nuts.

We want A&M to win next week so we can get a home playoff game. 10-2 Texas with zero ranked wins would go behind us. Then Georgia beats A&M in the SEC Championship game. That would make us the 2nd highest ranked SEC team. We'll be in good position for a home playoff game in that scenario.
Gotcha. Didn’t consider all of that.

If Texas beats A&M, it would be Texas and Georgia in the championship game.

- If Texas wins - then Georgia would have 3 losses and yes we probably end up the second SEC team in the rankings.
- If Georgia wins - then it would depend on how they rank us and Texas.
There is a good shot of us getting a home playoff game with either. Texas losing in the SECCG means they don’t have a quality win with the same number of losses. You have to think they would put us above Texas but if they would punish Texas for losing a SECG that much is the question.

I THINK Georgia already has 1 spot locked down, so if theres 3 other 2-loss teams, A&M and Texas haven't played us, so it would go to common opponents, and they both beat Arky, but A&M would have beat Texas, so they go. I'm not certain a trip to the game alone wouldn't be enough to get a playoff spot, but they could definitely win the SEC and get a bye.
Gotcha. May be a moot point as I think Texas will beat aTm and will play UGA again. A lot of teams did us some favors today. We’re looking better for the playoffs if we beat Vandy and playing one less game than UGA vs ?. To me, that’s not a bad deal.

Things couldn’t have gone more perfectly for us tonight. Absolutely cannot crap the bed next week.

Yes - what would have been exceptionally perfect would have been Minnesota taking care of Penn State and Notre Dame losing. But we dominated in our game, and we should move up clearly back into a playoff spot.

Penn St could potentially drop anyway, due to them struggling so hard against an unranked mediocre opponent. They failed to cover, which should count for something. Not saying out of the playoff bracket completely, but lower than where they were last week.

Auburn and Oklahoma should be fined an extra 100k for the morons flashing the lights while the crowd was on the field - save the light shows for concerts - someone could have got slugged like the girl at Neyland after the Bama game in 22
