A head full of lies is a weight, tied to my waist."

Layne had such a gift. Music like this just doesn't seem to happen anymore

It's a bit eerie now but a few years ago Cornell did an acoustic show at The Ryman and this was one of the songs he did.

It is so unfortunate that the same emotion/passion/eccentricity that allows incredible musical composition and performance also often leads to depression, substance abuse, and isolation.

Interestingly, that door swings both ways: there is hardly any Christian music that I would classify as unique/creative and exceptional in quality.

Honestly i try to listen to only Christian music for years now and the only ones who are truly incredible are Casting Crowns. Got to see them in charlotte thus year. We have used Marks books for devotionals in my house because they are so good. He is an incredible songwriter, and twice the man i will ever be. He is the real deal. Completely sold out for Christ in a way i havent achieved yet...and i believe a great youth pastor.he is a youth pastor first, never leaves his church or his kids for long

Yup I'm 36. We grew up in the greatest era of music imo.

Tool is and will always be my favorite band. Maynard is a poet and Danny is the reason I picked up a pair of sticks at 16

It wasn't until about 5 years ago I realized Mad Season was a group. I had loved "River of Deceit" and "I Don't Know Anything" but forever thought they were AiC songs that were maybe B songs not on any of their albums. It wasn't until I really started looking that I discovered Mad Season.

It's really sad 2 of the original members of MS are dead now, and Cornell had filled in as a guest vocalist at one of their reunion shows.
