Drew has put Baylor basketball on the map. There would be no basketball program at Baylor if Drew left. All coaches threaten players to sign or be deported, when the occasion calls for it. I think this is just an over-reaction to this situation. Drew will continue to win and that's all that matters.
The word's been out on him for years. No program worth a damn was ever going to hire him. That's why his camp floated the crap about him being in the running at Memphis. They have to keep creating the illusion of a market for him so they can rook the Baptists out of a bigger check. That sound you heard was Scott Drew getting blacklisted by all major programs.
It's someone that works for Scott Drew. I'm not in the least bit surprised. RC Johnson considered the guy too sleazy for Memphis. That speaks volumes.
That's the thing. He was never a candidate. Ever. That was just his people throwing out false reports so he could fleece Baylor. Calkins and Wolken simply responded to the smokescreen. There's not a decent program in America who would hire him.Are you sure R.C. was capable of that? I thought Drew withdrew his name after Geoff Calkins and Dan Wolken led a media crap storm over him being a candidate.
What kind of lawsuit?
We have discussed the Bruce Pearl situation ad infinitum. Now, it appears scandal is coming to the program run by the biggest phony in college basketball. Baylor assistant Matt Morefield sent a text to the high school coach of Hanner Perea essentially threatening to have the kid deported back to Colombia if he didn't sign with Baylor. Gary Parrish has the gory details in his column today. I can't believe someone like Scott Drew, who would have you believe he sits at the right hand of God, would allow this to happen. Must be a mistake.
A program with Scott Drew at the helm is running afoul of NCAA rules... blasphemy.
He replaced his dad at Valpo. The whole family is a bunch of pious phonies.
