Next question:

How much net profit has the university of Alabama athletics department made from 2007 to 2011? Do some research and let me know. I'm guessing around $120,000,000.00. Saban prolly made $20,000,000.00. Was it worth it? I say YES!

I guess 186Million and Saban got 25M of that -- good deal to bammers, but that's a lot of crimson gear.

Question 3

Is saban worth 10 million a year?

Yes. He has proven he is the best Coach in college football today. Sure he has one hell of a talent base that helped him get the reputation, it's not the Coach alone, but players want to play for a proven winner.

I agree. 10M is too much for a coach IMO. I like the idea of Gruden, especially for recruiting purposes, but I doubt that Hart will be able to meet his demands (due to administrative reasons). Therefore, I believe Hart should be looking at Lovie Smith, Bill Cowher, or proven SEC-level coaches with HC experience i.e., Gundy, Stoops, Patterson, etc..

Lovie will NOT come to U.T. He is very close to having enough NFL years to earn an NFL retirement. He won't leave the NFL when he is that close to earning his retirement.

No, but I'm not attached to Grudens nuts like most fans are. I think Gruden would be the hire to get some recruits back and on a positive stride, but I don't see him sticking it out more than 2-3 years. Also, he hasn't proven much in the college world yet so I wouldn't wanna go over 5.5.

So Dave Hart why are you asking? I like your approach though of asking who it matters to the most! Keep up the good work.

Answer=If that's what it takes for 3 SEC titles and a NC in those 5 yrs.

:good!:

As a top 10 program in the country UT should be paying that type of money! In my opinion if that means making him the highest paid coach then so be it. Attached is a link to coaches salaries. Saban is tops at 5.4 million. Pay Gruden or Gary Patterson 5.5 for 6 yrs and be done with it. No stupid buy out though.

USA TODAY Sports college football coaches salaries database

You will also see on this list what schools are making money and whose not. Rutgers had a net loss of $28million, gee wonder why they went to the Big 10. Maryland similar.
