A Thread For The Coaching Search Family!

Had an extra week off and still came out flat. No passing game although vandy had 3 and 4 defensive backs out of the game. Didn't seem to have any kind of gameplan on offense.
Disappointing.

I'm not sure if there happens to be a word for less than flat. Defense was pretty good overall minus all those screen passes (which was a Vandy MO for the entire season so it should have been countered) and wasn't until that last drive they couldn't stop.

But the offense was uninspiring to say the least.

I know we will be better - I know we will come back from this - I know Tennessee Football will return - I know. But knowing doesn't make this any easier...

I don't know if I've ever been this ready for a football season to end.

Football should never end.
My oldest played his last game ever last week. He's been playing since he was 10. After everyone left he went back out to say good buy his own way

Football should never end

That's awesome Slice. My son plays now (8th grade). It was a rough season for him and his team. He was injured much of the year, his team sucked. Lots of drama. That with the Vols season makes this one ready for the books for me. Best of luck to your son.

Best coaching staff in America?

I think I am going to take a Vacation from Vol football ............

We may be very close to having no such thing as Vol football.

Its funny how all the former players and analyist say we are in good hands and we will be back under Jones but the Volnation regulars Know better than that.

Poignant...I love how he loves this game

He asked me "what's next?" I said one day you will walk in this locker room to get your son after his last game. He's going to ask "what's next?" Tell him a good life full of lessons learned from football.

That's what my grandpaw told me.
I miss the old coot.

No, but I believe we have a good head coach in Butch. Not so confident about some of the coordinators/assistants. Also too many of the older players have got dooley's losing attitude.

Good to see you back. Been a while.

Wise fella - Your grandpaw - reminds me of my dad - miss that old coot too.

That's already a given. This week can't make up for it. I would like for them to finish on a positive note, though.

Yeah, I'll give you that.

And here's to a great recruiting class (hopefully we retain all we've gotten commitments from already) and a great off season that the team gels and starts playing some traditional UT football.

I think we still pick up one or two commitments ( and lose a couple ) and wind up with a great year in recruiting.

IMO, Quarterback and Offensive Line development in the off season is going to determine our future for the next couple of years. We've got to be able to throw the ball down the field and we're going to have to replace most, if not all, of our offensive line.
