A thumb in the eye of the SEC

This is a two team league. Nobody else is relevant. No amount of officiating injustice can account for the disparity in talent those two teams have over everybody else. They lose Heisman QBs and then have another Heisman candidate to replace them. It is frustrating and sickening.
I honestly don’t believe there’s a huge disparity in talent… I do believe 100% the officials have been coached to ignore certain calls on certain teams…

Here's the deal. Bama has ALWAYS jobbed everybody else in the SEC when it comes to officiating. It's just part and parcel of who is the SEC. It's why beating Bama is sooooo satisfying because you got jobbed and overcame it and beat 'em anyway. It's been this way since I was a kid in the early 60s and is the same today. Perthaps with OU and Texas joining it will change but I doubt it. The only college programs worse used to be Notre Dame and Penn State when they were independents.

That bunch at Penn State used and JoePa piled up his wins with were the absolute WORST. Bama had a home and away series with Penn State late in the Bear's career. On national tv for a win late in the game Bama needed a TD for the win. Last play of the game the ball is passed into the back of the end zone. Bama receiver goes up catches it, is brought down with a Penn State defender hanging all over him and is brought to the ground. From the waist down he's in the end zone, waist up he is out of bounds. Zebra runs over and gives the two hand swoosh sign Bama caught the ball out of bounds while half his body is in bounds, Game over, Bear never complained he got jobbed just like he jobbed everybody in the SEC for years and years and years and Bama with the SEC HQ in Bama is still doing it.

I am now cheering for maximum chaos after the total screwjob performed by SEC officials against Tennessee this year. Remember, 11 quarters against an SEC oppenent without a single live ball foul. Meanwhile if a Tennessee player even thinks of holding its called.

Heres what could happen without the obvious and corrupt influence of the SEC officiating office:
1. Tennessee knocks off Georgia.
2. Alabama loses to Auburn
3. Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC championship
4. Texas, Florida State and Washington OR Oregon win out.

Here's hoping this is how things play out. Its exactly what the Birmingham Alabama SEC suits deserve after the obvious and corrupt bias we've been subjected to this year.
I like it…. That would salvage the whole season

Just brace yourselves to the fact that Georgia is probaly three peating as I have and I can’t imagine how much more obnoxious and unbearable there fans will be ugh. The only team that has a shot to beat them is Bama. Do you really think FSU, Michigan or Ohio St. and Washington can beat Georgia?

My man.
I decided long ago I wanted chaos and if the Vols aren’t a contender , the rest of the SEC should lose.
Seeing the SEC kicked out of the playoff would warm by cold heart. Not sure why we are supposed to root for the rich to get richer.
Wish I could give this a hundred likes.

Remember when Bama couldn’t get an elite QB but the WR’s and RB’s were heisman contenders? My point is that just about anyone you plug into that elite talent is going to have a great year. It just happens that the QB’s Bama is playing can scramble now.

With the talent and the biased officiating, hardly anyone can out coach and out execute either team. Take a bunch of linemen who play exceptional football but their few holds get called while Bama’s line plays sloppy but don’t receive penalties at all. That’s when it becomes near impossible to catch them on a bad day.
Agree 100%. Need an example…

UGA probably doesn't need the officials this weekend but if it's somehow a game late in the fourth and one team gets a backbreaking shat call to kill a drive, i'd bet it would be the Vols that end up on the wrong end of it. They got to get either Bubba or the Mutts to the playoff, a undefeated UGA squad looks better as either the champ or looks great for Bama to be the ones to break their win streak. That's just the reality of it.. Money drives the bus.

If what you're saying is true, and I'm not disputing that it is, get ready to see the Vols set the record for most penalties in a game if its close.
The most beneficial to the SEC is for Bama & UGA to win out and then the SECC get in to the F4. I'm just saying they can rationalize by saying all teams will benefit with more money coming in to be distributed to members. When you are at work you know what the boss wants and you try to deliver. So refs wont blatantly cheat but just maybe ignore or rationalize that wasn't much of a hold and if the wrong team is about to win you hone in and find a hold. Its not cheating its just leveraging your power to get the right results. The commissioners job is to make the SEC the most profitable top conference. So UT needs to find the way to the top to be the teachers Pet.

I never cheer for another sec team, it only makes the stronger and recruit better. Why would I want that?
ESPN decided it would help their ratings if they put up the conference records in Bowl games. Fans bought into the advertising (yeah advertising works) by saying my dogs bigger than yours with conference being the dog. Its a bit crazy but it worked and ESPN & Top teams are the winners and like you said the Strong stay strong if they win. Guess what, the teams the strong stay ahead of, their fans are cheering for the strong teams. Then those same fans that cheered for all the conference teams say in the Spring we just get out recruited every year , I don't understand it.....BUT then they chant SEC..SEC....SEC....SEC...SEC,,,,NOW IM GONNA BEAT MY CHEST 🤣

I have a feeling that all the calls will go Georgia’s way this Saturday. The SEC will want its top team in the playoffs.

Yeah stepping back and reviewing, Georgia is the most complete team in the nation.

I do think FSU, Michigan, and Alabama can beat them on a good day. Washington has entered a slump, I think Oregon may beat them in Pac12 title rematch.

Don't forget about Texas...

💯 I gave up on “SEC PRIDE” more than a decade ago. AL and UGA winning does not benefit TN.

It was fun when SEC was looked down on and you had multiple SEC Contenders. Alabama and Georgia constantly winning doesn't speak to conference strength, it just makes us look like a 1-2 team conference like Pac12 was under Pete Carroll at USC, the B1G most years with Ohio State, and the ACC with Clemson.

I cheer for SEC but I am cheering for teams like Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, etc. Underdogs. Need to break the Saban strangle hold. It has ruined CFB for me. 2000-2010 was the best period to watch SEC football. It has been **** since the Saban era because Alabama just murders everyone. Georgia has come around since 2017 but some of their fanbase is obnoxious as hell. Sad thing is there are also some great Georgia fans I know as well.

I also think Alabama and Saban are pretty dirty and it gets covered up. All that he does has an * in my book. I think there was a lot of recruiting shenanigans going on from 2007-2011 with paying players. The Pruitt experience at Tennessee tends to support that (where did Pruitt learn to cheat?).

Amen. Rock bottom for me was when ai found myself trying to cheer for Florida against Ohio State(whom I despise), and a voice spoke to me and said “who have you become?”. There I was, in the floor, weeping, covered in Buffalo wing sauce in a pool of Diet Mountain Dew, broken. Cheering for a team I hated , just because I also hated the other team. I realized there was room in my heart to just hate every team that isn’t us. My life has been so free since then.

It can be both.

How many players do we have on our roster that would get starter minutes for Bama or Georgia? Jaylen Wright is the only one on offense I can come up with. I think our DL is at least competitive with theirs, and maybe throw in Aaron Beasley. No one else on offense or defense would see the field, would they?

Yeah when there was a rotating cast of SEC schools winning titles it was a little more fun and felt like we could break through at any time. Now Bama and UGA have a strangle hold on the top talent while the rest of us compete for runner up. It’s zapped the fun out of it. Need them to start losing.

I was hoping this was Bama’s descent year but here they are in position to make the playoffs yet again.

Issue isn't even them winning but the fact that you know they will go into most matchups, even historical rivalries, and have 0 chance to lose.

CFB has always been top heavy but dynasties lasted only 4-5 years typically and even then, you knew that rivals and other teams were going to give them problem.

Not know because the recruiting gaps have been greater than ever before in CFB so we are just basically hoping these recruits flame out or that the other recruits teams like Tennessee are picking up are underrated.

3 teams at least. Have to include LSU. Bama has always been considered an anomaly under Saban but Kirby looks to be on the same path. Sec has won the championship 14 times this century with 5 different sec teams. 6 out the 9 playoffs which has made it more difficult to do. That's nuts.

whats baffling to me is that there is this notion that bama needs to be in any playoff conversation because "thats what the people wanna see, whether you like them or hate". being a tennessee fan, im conditioned to instinctively hate bama, but im not chomping at the bit to hate watch them in a playoff.

they are no longer relevant to me outside of the rivalry. there was a point in time where i'd watch because i wanted to see david defeat goliath, but i've got bama fatigue. their brand of football is boring and uncompelling.

as much as i hate georgia too, at least there's a storyline to follow, though one could make an argument they are boring as well.

one could also make an argument that there is no team that's really deserving of being in the playoff, strictly from an entertainment standpoint.

I'm all for the chaos theory and getting new blood into the playoffs.

The mental gymnastics either Bamas fanbase with an SECCG win or a Georgia team with an upset loss and an SECCG win ( both ending up with 1 loss) would go through to justify getting in over an undefeated team would be a sight to see.

And there has been some egregiously bad officiating this season, not just in the SEC but across the country.

But this team has played incredibly stupid and uninspired football in more than a few games now this year.

Last week and the second half of that Alabama game along with the first half against FL was more the team getting their a$$es kicked in the trenches than any conspiracy.
Agree...how can you play uninspired with a championship still on the line?! That bothers me.

I've never been one to blame the refs...yes there are bad calls...no calls...missed calls on both sides...I'm of the opinion that losers make excuses and winners don't have to...There's call that refs miss on us too but us UT fans don't see that...lol. Also being not as good as we need to be at several positions and along the OL in several places we tend to grab...claw...hold to make up for some shortcomings...We are very undisciplined and have been a lot for 3 years which causes penalties. I don't care how good or bad your football team is....both can play with discipline and solid fundamentals.
