I have a very uneasy feeling about Sunday's game vs. Cards. Thoughts?
it's a game they should win.

i think the WR will present a challenge our secondary. but the qb situation is an advantage for us. I hope Warner starts. he's like a staue back there.

offensively, i think we'll match up fine.

the x factor, obviously, is the coaching staff. it's not like they don't our personnel.

it will be an interesting game that's for sure.

obviously the trepadation you felt was spot on. i wasn't real confident, but still, this is a game that you look back on later in the year that could haunt you.

the good news...the bengals play the pats. we should still be leading the division after tonight.

Huge win yesterday......defense was outstanding....the secondary was as good as i've seen them in a very long time, and that's without TP and CH.

get to the bye, get healthy and time to make a serious run......Go Steelers.

I agree. Missing TP and CH on Def and never really missed a beat. Ike finally held onto a ball in a clutch situation. And Ben looked good especially on third downs without HW and SH. Heath gets better every week and the OL seemed to want to redeem themselves after a very lackluster performance last week against the Cardinals. We made too many mistakes on special teams but our defense was good enough to overcome them. The bye could not come at a better time.

Anyone heard anything about the progress to TP's rib cage injury. How long is he expected to be out?

i haven't heard about TP's injury yet.

and to be honest, i think they played better w/out him for some reason.....the secondary was lights out yesterday. cause the front seven wasn't getting pressure til after 5 seconds in to the routes...really impressive.

I think Tomlin is having a very positive effect on them. He's gotten more consistency out of Ike.... heck all of them, than I've seen in quite a while from a Steeler DB

From the Wednesday Pittsburgh Post Gazette 10/10-

NOTES -- The Steelers expect all four injured starters to be ready to play when they resume Oct. 21 at Denver: Hampton (hamstring), Ward (knee), Polamalu (ribs) and Holmes (hamstring). "No doubt, I'll be back," Ward said. Said Polamalu, "I'd be ready if we played this week."

what you think about the Broncos Sunday Night? no Jevon Walker for the ponies.......defense looks suspect...us coming off a bye...i think this is one we win big, or at least comfortably.

boy was i wrong. i don't know what happened, but the offensive line was just that....offensive. they were pathetic last night and Ben wasn't much better. when he did have time, he held the ball to long and when he didn't have time, well, he just didn't have time. running game got stuffed and turnovers were HUGE in the 1st half. glad they made a game of it, but a loss is still a loss.

and the defense......i'm just going to say it. they played better without TP. i just don't get it. every time it was 3rd and double digits, they converted. the defense simply couldn't get a stop when they had to.

not a good night up front on either side of the ball for the Steelers, and for the first time all year, they were challenged in the 1st half and it proved to be the difference.

pathetic performance last night. and Tomlin got his first taste of being out coached......something to chew on for the rest of the season with some HUGE games still looming.

Sorry for not posting sooner. Been away a few days.
Last night was truely pathetic. 21 passing attempts in the first half. My wife has me on suicide watch after watching both my teams give up on the run too soon and have penalty after penalty after penalty go against them all weekend. The game last night begged for us to run it right at them, yet we chose to air it out. Losing Aaron Smith had a lot larger affect than I had hoped it would on the D line. The O line played poorly, Dumerville is 5'10' and had 2 sacks, why? oh why? did we not continually run right at him? Tomlin is way to quick on the trigger with the red flag. I hope he learns from last night and does not continue to make the same mistakes. Denver was cranked up with all the talk about losing the "Mile High Mystique" and having the family members there of their deceased teammates there. I think being patient with the running game a little more would have taken them out of the tempo they were striving for. We didn't play Steeler football last night, we seemed very impatient on offense, couldn't get off the field on 3rd down on defense and we paid for it. I hate weekends like this.

Glad for the win, take one anytime against Cincy.

I need to see 3 things to feel comfortable about competing with the big boys. i.e. Pats, Colts, Chargers. possibly later in the year.

1. An error free game with consistant good decisions by our QB.

2. The DB's playing like the were in the beginning of the season. They appear to have fallen off as of late and TP isn't having a Pro Bowl type season, yet. I should note that the teams we played early on are starting to show their true colors and maybe weren't as good as I would have liked to have thought. Exception may be Cleveland.

3. Better special teams play.

agreed. i honestly think the SEA game was the best game they played as a group all year, and that was w/out TP. the secondary has been an issue for at least 3 years now and they aren't near as dominant as their reputation would have you believe. you can get yards thru the air against this defense.

special teams has been spotty at best. they look great one week, and terrible the next. right now, i don't see us competing with Indy or NE for tops in the AFC.

A much better description than my weak generalized "Better special teams play". My feelings, exactly. Thanks :hi:

Just curious - I would love to be in your position as a Bengals fan, don't get me wrong but man, do you guys have the easiest schedule in the NFL?

The sad part I also realize is that, our schedule is most likely very similar.

the difficulty of schedules changes year to year. two years ago the AFC north could have been argued as the toughest division in the league, this year, i think it's ok, the bengals still cause problems for folks offensively, their defense is just bad. the ravens cause problems defensively, their offense is bad. the browns have sort of rebounded in to a nice little team and the Steelers are pretty good all around, but we don't do anything spectacularly well. which in this divison can win it for you.

but we're no where near the pats or colts.

but at the end of the day, yes, i'm glad we're not the bungles........:p

The Steelers on Monday Night Football and this thread is halfway down the page?

Big Ben looking good. I'm digging the old school yellow helmet. The unis definitely need some work though.

the ravens offense is horrid. Harrison was a beast. Ben made them pay for the TO's. game over at 1/2 time, i'm in bed by 11........twas a good night for STeeler Nation.
