A vol youtuber changed my whole opinion.

We apparently don’t have the billionaires like many of the other schools. Also, look at the Volunteer club with Spyre. Do we even have 5k members? As of April last year we had a little over 3k. That’s embarrassing given how large this fan base is.

If fans want to win then they need to start helping out. I mean we sell out almost every home game. So let’s just say we got 150k fans who watch and are die hard VFLs. Now let’s say that 100k of them signed up for the $10/month plan and 50k signed up for the $25/month plan. That’s 2.25 million per month. Now 90% of that goes to athletics. So that’s over 1.8 million per month.

I don’t want to hear any excuses about what people can and can’t afford. I know people who spend more than $25 on a single Starbucks order. So you are right we shouldn’t be behind in NIL given our fan base. But the fan base is one of the big reasons we are falling behind.
Not that I disagree with you, but I based my opinion, that it "shouldn't be happening", on current fan participation levels..... and it shouldn't.

Maybe humans are getting to the point where the whole sports thing, in general, doesn't do it for them anymore so they're less willing to invest in it.... 🤷‍♂️

I remember just a couple of years ago reading that UT was leading the way with NIL.... Read it right here on VolNation. Looks like we ain't on the "lead lap" anymore. That should never happen with the Tennessee brand an fan support we have, well not if they're respected and appreciated anyway....

Who really knows. Maybe we are just spreading it around a lot more than other schools. Our Baseball, mens and womens basketball seem to be doing very well. And the football team was third best in the SEC. Overall, our athletic dept. seems to be doing as well as anyone.

Our issue is we are just too good of a sports school now in several sports. If only we had one good team that was heavy on NIL

Until they have donation stations at home games i dont see alot of people joining ..The university when able needs to go county to county in our state with NIL representatives and be visible to the fan base . Having information available for the fans . I would bet 97 percent of fans know nothing at all about Spyre . At least 40 percent would never give a dime for various reasons . I dont know how it all works and havent seen any detail on what percentage a school would need to succeed

Yea, but the more things change, the more they stay the same.... Soon as you got it figured out, you're wrong..

Life sure is fun.... 😎👍
